Getting Started with MarketplaceAdvisor Premium (International Customers)

This page describes the training plan that you'll undertake as you begin to learn and use MarketplaceAdvisor Premium on a daily basis. The process leverages a four-part webinar seriers, on-line movies and tutorials, and question & answer sessions with members of our Customer Launch Team. It also relies heavily on your involvement as the actual setup of the system will be done by you and perhaps members of your team. Think of us as your learning facilitators!

We've broken out the learning phases below, so please take a moment to review the entire page. This way you'll have a complete overview of what is to come.

For all of your questions , please contact us at AUS.Implementation@channeladvisor.com .

Wizards Complete the Account Settings and Checkout Wizards in MarketplaceAdvisor Premium

The first time you access the MarketplaceAdvisor Premium module, you will be prompted to configure your Account and Checkout settings, using the two wizards. You should complete both of these wizards as best as you can, prior to the start of the webinars. If these are not done, you will be unable to access the screens necessary to complete the daily homework.

If you do not know all the answers to all of the questions, that is OK. Just note your questions and review them with your Customer Launch Specialist. The important thing is that you complete them so that you can start the webinars, which are the basis for your training.

Stage 2 - Take Inventory Snapshot from Current Provider

Inventory Snapshot

Migrating your inventory from your current provider

To help you format your existing inventory into something that can be imported into MarketplaceAdvisor Premium, we have developed some tools that help simplify this process. There are two tools to choose from and which one you use really depends on where you currently have your inventory / listings.

Important !

While you are working on this, PLEASE proceed to Stage 3 - Basic Training (Webinars) . There is no reason to delay your education while we work on your inventory data!

Are you currently using an eBay tool?

If you are currently using one of the eBay Tools (Blackthorne, Turbo Lister, or Selling Manager Pro), you can review the below tutorial. This guide will review the process of exporting your inventory from these tools and submitting that inventory via the web to our Add To Inventory (A2I) tool. Once you submit the data, the tool will convert the file and provide you and your Customer Launch Specialist with a copy of that spreadsheet.

Important: It will still be necessary to add / remove / change data on this sheet, prior to uploading. Even so, history shows that using this information will save you a great deal of time in the long run. If you have any questions, please ask us.

Are you coming from MarketplaceAdvisor (fka Marketworks) or some other provider?

If you are using another provider other than eBay tools, we have the ability to take your export and easily convert it into a format that can be uploaded into MarketplaceAdvisor Premium. While every situation can vary slightly, we've found time and time again that taking your existing data and rearranging / modifiying it can save you a significant amount of time.

To start this process, please ask your current provider for a Full Export and then email that to us.

If you're unsure whether or not this is the right thing for you, please contact us and we can help you make that decision.

Implementation Assumptions

  • Client must have a basic understanding of HTML or the use of an HTML editor. If client does not have the knowledge, they will need at least minimal access to an HTML resource. Maintenance of any Brand Packages developed by ChannelAdvisor is the client's responsibility.
  • Client should be familiar with Excel or a similar spreadsheet application. Merchant makes extensive use of formatted files for both import and export of data.
  • Client should know what FTP is, and should have access to an FTP client . An FTP client allows the client to quickly upload images into Merchant. Images can be uploaded manually, but it will take much longer to load than with FTP.
