As part of ChannelAdvisor's Actionable Retail Insights, you get targeted selling insights, Amazon Insights, from the Amazon Marketplace designed specifically to improve performance, presented in a format relevant to you so that you can filter out the noise, and be proactive by taking direct action. Additionally, you can export these insights and use the data in evaluation that is most appropriate to your business.

 

Amazon Insights Types


You can access all of your Amazon Insights by navigating to Marketplaces > Amazon > Optimization > Insights. Additionally, you can view Pricing Insights on the Product Performance page Marketplaces > Amazon > Products > Product Performance and Advertising Insight on Marketplaces > Amazon > Advertising > Insights.

 

Product Opportunities

One of the best ways to grow business is to add new products with high customer interest. With Product Insights, we recommend items that are similar to the products and brands that you already sell and have high customer interest. Many of these suggestions will have limited availability from other competitors.
Based on sourcing constraints, not all recommendations will be feasible options for your business. That’s why we’ve enabled the filtering of these suggestions by brand, so you can drill down and add products that not only have customer interest and limited competition but that fit your business.

 

Inventory & Price Opportunities

Inventory and Pricing Insights identify products that are priced a certain percentage from the lowest offer for the item on the sales channel. While you may have margin or MAP pricing restrictions that prevent you from pricing at the lower amount, this insight will also highlight pricing errors while shedding light on new opportunities to compete. Additionally, we’ve simplified inventory management for high-velocity items, by using historical sales behavior, to highlight high velocity products that are or are soon to be out-of-stock.

If you are using the Amazon Repricer in ChannelAdvisor the view from your Product Performance page for a specific SKU ( Marketplaces > Amazon > Products > Product Performance ) shows Pricing Insights and the impact of your repricing strategy on your product’s GMV. You can see the correlation between your price, the Buy Box price, Amazon’s price and your product’s GMV. Additionally, we display the range of prices for competing offers to determine if your pricing strategy is optimized.

To see the Product Performance data including Pricing Insights for a product enter the SKU in the search box in the top right above the Amazon Buy Box Opportunities list. If you get more then one result click on the desired SKU to open the Pricing Insights. Note: You will only see data if the product has been listed on Amazon. Otherwise you'll get a message stating the information is not provided until the product is sent to Amazon.

  • Toggle the GMV, Range, Your Price, Amazon Price, Buy Box Price on and off to focus in on relevant data
  • Zoom in on a date – click and drag top-to-bottom to zoom in on a data point

 

Fulfillment Opportunities & Stranded FBA Inventory

If you’re using Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), you understand the benefits: fulfillment costs, Buy Box access and exposure to Amazon Prime buyers. But not all product sales are improved by utilizing FBA, making the development of a strategic approach of utmost importance.

Fulfillment Insights will empower you to maximize profitability through FBA, such as which products have strong Amazon customer interest, and which are a part of limited offers from Amazon and other competitors, to help you identify and act on key opportunities to make the most of FBA. Additionally, the Fulfillment Insights will highlight Stranded Inventory, which are products in FBA where there is no corresponding listing.

 

Data Quality Opportunities & Suppressed Products

Accurate, thorough product data improves exposure to potential buyers who are better able to locate, evaluate and purchase your products. Data Quality Insights will give you targeted opportunities to improve your data and optimize your listings. These insights will highlight listings that Amazon has deemed insufficient and those that it has suppressed, even if the listing appears active. It is important to keep up with your suppressed product insights as these are products that may have originally listed successfully but now a buyer is no longer able to view and purchase.

Two types of Data Quality insights - suppressed products and categorization issues - are important to your listing success on Amazon. These Insights have been promoted and will also be shown in your Amazon Errors so that they can be addressed alongside of your other Amazon listing errors. Suppressed products will always show in your Amazon Errors. You have the option of retriggering the ChannelAdvisor Categorizer feature based on the existence of categorization insights. If you enable this feature, described below, then you will receive categorization warnings in your Amazon Errors:

  • Product Categorizer Retrigger When Amazon Issues Recommendation – The Product Categorizer is an important feature which can help you determine the correct product classification via the Item Type Keyword field (or Browse Node ID for non-US Amazon locales) within the Amazon catalog. The specific values accepted by Amazon are defined within the Amazon Browse Tree Guide (BTG) for each category and they control a buyer's ability to locate your product. In this release, we have provided a feature which, independent of the Categorizer, will notify you when Amazon has issued a recommendation to indicate that your product may be (1) missing a classification, (2) may have an invalid classification or (3) may contain a classification that could be more specific. From Marketplaces > Amazon > Settings, you can turn this retriggering feature on.

 

Advertising Insights

As selling on Amazon becomes more competitive, promoting your products through Amazon's advertising programs may be an important part of your strategy. Advertising Insights will recommend products that are good candidates for promotion by highlighting products with high inventory quantities or that have lower page views with strong customer interest. You can access Advertising Insights quickly from Marketplaces > Amazon > Advertising > Insights.
