Google Express Checkout Setup

Account activation

Before you can offer Google Checkout to your buyers you must register for an account. Google has made easy, step-by-step instructions available at https://checkout.google.com/seller/start.html.

Sign-up requires that you provide Google with basic information on:

  • Business Name and Address
  • Customer Support and FAQ Information
  • Return/Cancellation Policy
  • Shipping Policy
  • Tax ID and Bank Information
Once you are registered, the Settings page in your Google Checkout will show several links on the left side that allow you to edit and complete additional information such as AdWords and Order Processing.

 

Select Integration to configure your account for ChannelAdvisor support.

Merchant ID & Merchant Key

After your Google Account registration, you will be assigned a Google Merchant ID and Google Merchant Key which ensures your orders are safely sent (encrypted) and processed. The credentials are on the right side of the integration page. Open MarketplaceAdvisor Premium in another browser window, so that you can cut and paste the values. The system enters these credentials for all transactions.

Order Processing Preferences

You must also configure how Google should processes a buyer's credit card. In Google > Settings > Preferences, select the first option: "Automatically authorize the buyer's credit card..." ChannelAdvisor will instruct Google to charge the card AFTER available inventory has been confirmed.

Configuring ChannelAdvisor Complete

Now that Google is configured you need to configure MarketplaceAdvisor Premium.

Select Checkout > Checkout Solutions.

Note: The Google callback URL should reflect the following:

  • an https: format

  • orders should be configured in XML format.

Google Checkout Order Processing

Orders completed at Google are processed and reported on as they are today from ChannelAdvisor Stores. Similar to Amazon, the transaction is marked as "Checkout Completed" and "Payment Completed" in MarketplaceAdvisor Premium.

In order to allow merchants to quickly determine which orders were successfully completed on Google all relevant transactions will show a Payment Type of "GG".
