ShoppingAdvisor - Uploading Category Mappings
If you have a lot of categories in your incoming data feed or in their ChannelAdvisor store, it can take a long time to map categories for each individual site. It is recommend that the Upload Category Mapping option be used in this situation. You can setup an upload sheet, as a tab delimited file, that has your source categories in one columnm and the site categories in the second column and then directly upload this list into the system. - Export out all your source categories by going to Data Mapping > Category Mapping and then clicking on the Export All Source Categories link.
- Uncheck the Category ID box. You will not need this for mapping.
- Click on Export. This will give you a listing of all your source categories in a comma delimited file. Save this file on your system.
- Open the saved file in Excel.
- The first column (column A) will contain a listing of the soure categories.
- In the second column (column B), create a header in the first row and enter the name Site Category.
- Download the taxonomy file for the shopping site you want to map to:Using the taxonomy file for the shopping site that you want to map to, match up your source category with the site category and put that site category in the second column.
- Goto Category Mapping and click on the Upload Category Mapping link
- From the drop down list, choose the site that you would like get the taxonomy file for
- A link will appear next to the drop down list that will allow you to download the taxonomy for that site
 - Save the file as a tab delimited file in Excel by going to File > Save As and choose the file type as Tab Delimited.
- In ShoppingAdvisor, goto Data Mapping > Category Mapping and click on the Upload Category Mapping link.
- From the dropdown list, choose the site that you want to map categories for.
- Click on Browse to find your newly created mapping file.
- Click Continue. The mapping will start to update in the system.
- You can refresh the page to see the updated status of the upload.
