How to Use Endicia's Shipping Software

MarketplaceAdvisor lets you use Endicia’s DAZzle software to do the following:

· Print a variety of United States Postal Service postage

· Create mailing labels

· Validate addresses

You can export MarketplaceAdvisor data to Endicia for automated postage. You can then import the tracking numbers created in Endicia into MarketplaceAdvisor so buyers and sellers can track purchases.

This document provides instructions on how to export the data from MarketplaceAdvisor into Endicia DAZzle and import the data back to MarketplaceAdvisor.

Prerequisites

You must load Endicia’s Premium Service DAZzle software to take advantage of this feature. Premium Service is available for both Windows and Mac users and can be downloaded from the Endica website. To download the software or to learn more about Endica and DAZzle software, visit www.endicia.com.

Also consider purchasing a label printer if you do not have one currently available. You can configure DAZzle so that labels automatically print every thirty seconds by accessing a XML file exported from the MarketplaceAdvisor software.

Prior to using this feature, verify in MarketplaceAdvisor that

  • At least one USPS shipping carrier is enabled
  • Account Shipping Rates are defined

Configuring USPS

1. From the Console, select Transaction Processing Module.

2. If you have more than one account, in the Account Console in the top right corner, select the account.

3. Enable the Endicia/ USPS Shipping Report, by doing the following:

· From the Console, select Settings > Report Settings.

· From the Shipping Reports option, check Endicia/USPS.

4. To configure the report settings, click Configure.

The DAZzle Startup Options appear. You can add or change settings on this view at any time. The field options correspond to those in DAZzle and are standard shipping options.

· The Rubber Stamp options link back to MarketplaceAdvisor data fields that might be valuable on the invoice. To view the options, use the drop-down arrow.

· Custom Form refers to International Custom forms.

· Stealth postage refers to a postage type that prevents the buyer from seeing the actual postage amount.

5. Click Save Changes.

6. From the Report Settings page, click Save Changes again.

7. Verify the Endicia USPS Shipping Report by doing the following:

· From the Console, select Transaction Processing Module > Reports > Shipping Reports.

· After a buyer completes a purchase and selects a USPS shipping method, an Endicia/USPS report will be generated in the Shipping Reports view. These reports are denoted by "USPS/Endicia" in the Version column.

Interfacing with the DAZzle Software

You can download the shipping report into DAZzle, print postage from DAZzle, and then import the USPS tracking numbers from DAZzle into MarketplaceAdvisor.

For additional questions about postage, labels, or other DAZzle capabilities, consult the help system within the DAZzle application or Endicia's online help.

Exporting USPS tracking numbers from DAZzle into MarketplaceAdvisor

For some USPS shipping services, a tracking number is created by DAZzle when the shipping label is generated. This tracking number can be imported into MarketplaceAdvisor and associated automatically with a particular invoice.

After the log is created and imported to MarketplaceAdvisor, invoices will be marked as paid, shipped, tracking numbers set, and automatic emails will go out indicating the tracking number if the feature is enabled.

To export the Postage Log file from DAZzle

1. Select Postage > Postage Log.

2. Click Backup/Export.

3. Select Export and click OK.

4. In the Select Export File window, name the file and choose Text, XML format from the "Save as type" box. Click Save.

To import the Postage Log file into MarketplaceAdvisor

1. From the Console, select Channel Management Module > Sales > All Sales.

2. Click Import Shipping Tracking Numbers.

3. Enter the filename or browse to the Postage Log file exported from DAZzle.
