ShoppingAdvisor - Using Marketplaces Inventory

Return to Main Page

ShoppingAdvisor can use the inventory in your Merchant account to build feeds out to the shopping sites. You can utilize labels within Merchant to tag items and then assign them to a feed template in ShoppingAdvisor.

When configuring a channel within ShoppingAdvisor your source data will be setup to pull from your Merchant Inventory. This can be seen in the Source Data section of the channel configuration screen.

There are two default labels setup:

  1. All Items
  2. Inventory Available In Store

The simplest way to use your inventory is to select the All Items label. This will ensure that all your items are considered for the outgoing data feed.

If you would like to create a new label for your inventory then you can click on the New Label link located next to the field.

For more information on how to use labels with your inventory please refer to the
Labels section of the Online Help

For more information about Inventory Management within Merchant please refer to the
Inventory Management page

Important Points about Parent / Child Variations In ShoppingAdvisor

When using data from your Merchant inventory it is important to understand that feeds going out to shopping sites through ShoppingAdvisor will only include parent SKUs. Therefore, if you are using parent/child variations in your inventory it is important that you have required data at the parent level such as price and detailed descriptions. You feeds may fail if required data is not available at the parent level.
