I was wondering how other sellers implement credit card processing in their storefront, and how do they deal with fraud prevention.
The most common fraud attempt we get is the use of stolen credit card data. We tackle this in two ways:
1) We don't take overseas credit cards (99% of overseas credit cards we get are stolen)
2) We ask customers at checkout what bank issued their card. If they have stolen credit card data purchased over the internet they wouldn't know it.
At the moment we process credit cards manually (virtual terminal) and are considering to do it automatically. However MA only connects to the Paypay flow gateway which doesn't seem to have antifraud features that we need.
We are using the virtual terminal from eway and find its beagle antifraud feature quite useful. Basically it reports for every card processed the bank that issued the card, and the geographical location.
It would be great if MA could use the eway gateway...
So again, I'd like to know if there is someone out there processing credit cards automatically, and how do they deal with fraud.
cheers,
John.
