I have been working with CA and ASPDN for about 6 months on a rather light level. I am now needing to dive more deeply into the realm of managing our website's design - including editing navigation, the way the URL displays, and a whole host of other things. Basically, we are looking to do a site overhaul. I have basic HTML and CSS experience and am looking at getting training on XML/XSL so I can better understand the XML packages. Can anyone offer any guidance as to any resources or other types of training that would behoove me in this endeavor - especially focusing on the propietary nature of some of the tags/code used by ASPDN and CA?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
~Tonya

RE: Training/Resource Advice Needed

 Hi Tonya,

While I certainly recommend workign with an experienced designer whenever possible, here are some suggestions for getting started...

1.  I would begin by looking at the skinning tutorial provided by ASPDNSF:  http://manual.aspdotnetstorefront.com/pdf/skintutorial.pdf.  This provides a nice overview of the basics of changing the site.
2.  The XML pacakage overview provided by ASPDNSF is helpful (although a little technical):  http://manual.aspdotnetstorefront.com/p-157-xml-packages.aspx
3.  This video is also a nice overview:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqFxALGuQiU
