Child pictures not showing on an eBay Variation listing when having a different attribute other than colour.

Hi, I am having an issue with some of my ebay variation listings. We have over 100'000 sku's in stock and some sku's need to be listed as variations on eBay. The issue is that we are listing some products as an variation and choosing "Country" for the variation relationship. When we list this way the child images of all of the skus are not showing on the eBay variation listing. Pls see item numbers 130677978452, 110857538114 on eBay.co.uk. When we choose "colour" as an variation relationship then all of the child images are shown for each sku. Pls see item number 140736479117 on ebay.co.uk. The issue is that if we choose "colour" as an variation relationship for all of our variation listings even if it is not the right relationship then it will just confuse customers which may result in loss of sales. I am fustrated that this issue is with ChannelAdvisor and does not occur on esellerpro and on eBay.co.uk. I have revised the listing 130677978452 on ebay and am able to attach the child pictures which means ebay allows us to have any variation relationship we want. Pls see pic. http://d3d71ba2asa5oz.cloudfront.net/72001144/images/variation%20relationship.jpg Help is much appreciated in this matter. |
Put in a request with support and we can adjust that for you so it'll automatically process using whichever item specific option you want. We find that the color/colour/shade options in the automatic processing work for 99% of users, so we've tried to make it easy and automatic for people rather than forcing a lot of additional questions on you when usually we can figure it out and do it automatically. Since we know there are exception cases, that's why we have this method to modify some of your account settings through the support team without imposing that additional work on all of the other users.
Hi Marshall,
Thank you very much for the reply.
Please see reply from support. I am now totally confused.
Thank you for the response. However this is the eBay automatically revise function which allows you to select a number of items live on the marketplace and change the currently open listing information at that marketplace.
This can be enabled under Marketplaces > eBay > Settings > and clicking on the edit link beside Listings and under the Revise Listings you would select the box for "Enable automatic inventory synchronization with open eBay listings".
However you still require to pass the attribute of Color otherwise the Parent SKU image specified in the Picture URL field noted on the Posting Template will be passed to eBay. eBay will only show a different image for each color.
This is one of the exception cases that is stated in the SSC
Again this is a restriction that eBay has in place.
I do hope this clarifies your issue however I will certainly assist you further if you have any further questions on this.
Hi Marshall,
You can always use Color/Colour or Shade to do that. In addition, if you contact support we also have the capability to use an alternate value, such as your "Character" selection option. As you've already gotten this to work for your situation there's no need to change it any more, but I just wanted to make sure anyone else that's reading this later knows about that additional option.
