How do you find out the Amazon Batch ID?

We're running into some errors with submitting new items to the Clothing Category on Amazon right now. For some reason they are being very firm about not looking into it until they have a "batch ID, or reference ID, or document ID or feed ID". I can't seem to find it. Can anyone tell me where it's listed?

If it's not listed anywhere on CA can someone tell me what to tell them to have them start looking into the issues?

I appreciate all the help I can get!

RE: How do you find out the Amazon Batch ID?

Peter,
ChannelAdvisor has that data for your feeds - any of our support representatives can pull it up, they will need to know which feed on which date you are referencing.  If instead of a specific feed, you are referencing a specific SKU and the last time it was submitted, ChannelAdvisor support can determine the most recent feed for that item and find that batch ID as well.

Because we're always focused on a thousand things here, it would have saved us about 5 days of waiting for support if we had access to them. In the future, if possible, it would be great to have access to them on the platform.

I appreciate the help! Support was able to get me the info that I needed.

Kindest regards,

The main reason they're not exposed is that rarely do you need to know anything about them at all, and it's a very large amount of information that would frequently be in your way rather than useful.  It might have been of some assistance here, but in general it would be in the way and you'd be expressing frustration about having to get around that irrelevant information to get to what's important to running your business.

RE: How do you find out the Amazon Batch ID?

Yeah, but there's really no reason for us ever to go to Marketplaces>Amazon US>Products>Update History unless there's a problem. The only thing I ever see there is the Items Errored column. And there's only 14 days of history there, so it's not like it's data that lingers for years.

BTW The issue that I'm having with Amazon right now is that they are now blocking us from creating new items and updating items the Clothing and Apparel Category, which we were approved to sell in last year. For some reason no one knows why it's happening. Seeing as this is now affecting 156 of our inventory items it's costing us a bunch of money. There may be a simple solution or explanation but if I'm contacting support then I'm not wasting someones time. And I realize that this set of errors is odd enough to warrant providing this information to them ahead of time.

I realize that I have no control over the situation that I'm in right now and that I'm at the mercy of the Amazon machine. But to have access to this one measly column of information would be nice to have. Though it may get into someone's way, and make it so that someone requests to see it somewhere else on the platform, it's relevant information in this type of situation which I'm sure that a few other sellers have been in. Of course I may be wrong, seeing as we're the only company I've ever heard of that's ever had eBay's SMP not work for 5 months (while they still charged us for it)!!....  :)

I really do appreciate all the help that I get here!!

RE: How do you find out the Amazon Batch ID?

Peter,
As Marshall mentioned, the data is not as simple as it sounds (eg. "one column of data") and to present it would likely cause more confusion for many people. That said, we have considered providing the information in a less obvious fashion so only those who really need it can get it, but again given the complexity of the data it could be difficult to interpret.  The best approach for these issues is to contact support for assistance so you are assured to get the right information.  It also helps, especially in exceptionally confusing scenarios like the one you are describing, for our support team to assist in the communication with Amazon on your behalf.  While that sounds like another layer of inefficiency it does actually speed up the process as we can reply to what will likely be Amazon's queries for additional information with the files and/or examples they will need.  Additionally, if this becomes an issue that engineers on either side need to review the two support teams are able to quickly escalate - hopefully getting this taken care of sooner.

Thank you,
Jennifer

RE: How do you find out the Amazon Batch ID?

I can only imagine the can of worms that you guys would be opening if you provided only a small piece of the puzzle for people to try and diagnose their own issues.  :)

Now can someone please escalate case # 00573527 so that we can start to get this resolved.

I appreciate the help and the guidance!!

Kindest and humblest regards,
