Activating your Amazon Marketplace Integration

The backbone of ChannelAdvisor's integration with Marketplaces is our ability to regularly send and receive information on your behalf. We will update data and remove listings based on information you add to or remove from your ChannelAdvisor inventory.

Assign the Amazon Label

In order to send inventory to the Marketplace, you tell the system to pull all inventory that has a label associated with it. This gives you a flexible way to tag the inventory you want to appear on the marketplace without having to assign classifications or any other grouping mechanism. The label assigned must be the same as the label configured in your Settings. This action notifies ChannelAdvisor which products will be included in your Marketplace feed.

Preview and Activate Your Feed

As a best practice you should always run a preview of your feed before Activating your ChannelAdvisor integration with any Marketplace that accepts it. Not all Marketplaces support Previewing.

  1. To Preview your Marketplace feed, select the preview link pictured below. You will then be taken to a screen where you can enter your email address and submit your request.
    • The preview file will be emailed to you for download.
    • The file is created as a tab-delimited file with a single column for each field in the template. This format can be opened in Microsoft Excel.
    • The column naming structure is based on the tabs and headers in your template.  For example, the title field on the common tab may look like "Common>ProductIdentification>Title".
    • All errors that will prohibit a product from being sent to the Marketplace will appear at the bottom of the page under "The following errors were found for your items:"
    • This file is useful to reference when trouble shooting listing errors that may occur.
  1. Once you are satisfied that the information you are sending to the Marketplace is correct, you can now Activate your integration by selecting the Activate link pictured below. This action will initiate communication between your ChannelAdvisor and Marketplace accounts.


 

Communication Frequency

Now that your Marketplace integration has been activated, ChannelAdvisor and the Marketplace will be communicating frequently. Depending on the number of SKUs and the complexity of your inventory information, the amount of time it takes to process, communicate, and update on the marketplace could vary significantly. Refer to the Marketplaces - Processing and Communication Frequency page for more information on this topic.
