How To

Adding Destination URLs to Keywords in Google AdWords

The Destination URL is where you would like people to be sent after they click your ad. For all you ads, you should specify a display URL (customers see this) and a destination URL. The destination URL is not seen in the ad.

To add a destination URL:

  1. In your AdWords account, click on the "Keywords" tab.  If you don't see a destination URL column, you will need to add it.
  2. Click on the "Columns" link:

  3. Check the "Destination URL" box:

  4. Click Save

You may now click into the Destination URL box for each keyword, add a URL then click Save.

Because the destination URL of the keyword will override the URL placed on the ad group, it is best to make this destination URL as specific as possible.  We suggest using a product URL or a category URL, if possible.
