Amazon Product Matching (Multi Match) Errors Resolution

A special condition results when your Amazon product details match more then one existing product on the Amazon site but Amazon cannot determine which product match is correct.  Amazon will notify point out the data differences between your product and the product in its catalog that it is trying to match again. Typically, the product differences will include product size, color, title, manufacturer, or manufacturer part number (MPN).

When this condition occurs, ChannelAdvisor will return a Product Matching Error and provide you with a feature to allow you to view your product against the potential product matches that Amazon is suggesting. We have the option to (1) Select a product from the suggested list (2) Search Amazon for an appropriate Match or (3) Dismiss the error. You may want to dismiss the error if none of the suggested products the product you are trying to sell. You may want to go back and edit your product details to provide Amazon with more product attributes to match against.

How to Access the Product Matching Errors Resolution View


If your product information potentially matches one or more existing products on Amazon, you will receive the following alert on the Product Status page: 

PRODUCT MATCHING ERROR

Follow these steps to access the product matching error resolution tool.

  1. Navigate to your Marketplaces > Amazon > Products > Product Status view
  2. Select the 'Errors' view.
  3. For Product Matching Errors, select the error count hyperlink to open up the Product Matching Error Resolution view.

Using the Product Matching Errors Resolution View


This view will show you a list of your SKUs that have received the matching error. For each SKU you will be able to do the following:

  1. View and edit your SKU details 
    • Edit your SKU data to match the information on the detail page you are attempting to match to.
  2. Choose from a list of possible product detail pages to match to 
    • Select the ASIN link to view the product listing's detail page on Amazo
    • Select the Use This Listing button to match your SKU automatically to this Amazon product. 
  3. Search Amazon for a match
    • Search Amazon for another product match if your product was not in the suggested matches
  4. Dismiss the error 
    • Select the Dismiss button if no suggested listings match your SKU. Please note that dismissing the error only removes the errror from the view to allow you to edit your product or to perform additional research. A dismissed error may return if no product data is changed.
