How to Apply a Lookup List

If data contains the Name strings then it will be replaced with the matching string from the Value column.

To apply a lookup list in a template: This lookup list can be applied to substitute a field value. To apply a Lookup List simply map the appropriate template field using the lookup list mapping option. There are currently two template mapping applications in ChannelAdvisor to apply your Lookup List:

  • Templates: Used for Inventory, Marketplaces, Feeds.
    1. Locate the field you wish to apply the lookup list to.
    2. Click the Edit button.
    3. Select Lookup List.
    4. In Step 1, select the name of the lookup list to apply.
    5. In Step 2, Select the inventory field that contains the data to compare the Name value of the lookup list.
    6. Choose a default value if a matching value is not found in the lookup list.

See the Using Templates to Transform Data page for additional information.

  • When used with a Business Rule to create substitute values: This lookup list can substitute values using the lookup function "LOOKUP". This function will check a field to see if it contains the Name text strings. If a match is found then it will be replaced with the matching text string from the Value column. For example, where a Name string of "CA" is found within the designated inventory field, the "CA" string would be replaced with "ChannelAdvisor" from the Value column.
  • When used with a Business Rule to create a filter: This lookup list can become a filter using the lookup function "ISINLIST" to filter items that contains the values from the Name column. When lookup lists are used as filters, the Value column is not required or used.
