How To

ChannelAdvisor Connector for NetDespatch®

NetDespatch is the leading SaaS parcel data management platform for postal and parcel carriers. It enables carriers to provide leading edge web-based applications and services for their customers, that use delivery data directly transferred from order management and warehouse systems to print shipping labels, customs documentation, and manifests, as well as generate any required data files. Carriers can also use the platform to make their tracking available from point of despatch to final delivery. As a fully integrated partner, NetDespatch allows ChannelAdvisor customers to despatch parcels to the world's leading parcel carriers, such as Royal Mail, Yodel, APC Overnight, UKMail, Collect+ and more, using a fully automated solution.

Benefits

  • A single integrated despatch partner connects you to all the leading carriers
  • Eliminate manual shipping tasks with an automated, near real-time parcel despatch
  • Automated label printing as soon as shipment is booked with the carrier
  • Sync multiple ChannelAdvisor posting accounts to multiple carriers
  • Connect multiple distribution centers with a single integration

Data Flow

At regularly scheduled intervals our NetDespatch Integration polls your ChannelAdvisor account for orders that are pending shipment. Any orders that are pending shipment and that are mapped in the NetDespatch Integration interface will be automatically despatched to the correct carrier. The carrier tracking number will then be passed back into ChannelAdvisor and the order marked as shipped. ChannelAdvisor then notifies the marketplace that order has been shipped, and the marketplace will notify your customer.

Limitations

In order to limit manual involvement, the NetDespatch Integration Interface has to make certain assumptions about your orders. If an order does not conform to these assumptions, it can still be manually sent to NetDespatch through the NetDespatch web-based user interface. All orders are assumed to be shipped in a single parcel. If an order needs to be split into multiple shipments it can be done so via the ChannelAdvisor user interface, and then manually despatched via the NetDespatch user interface. Each carrier and class designation in ChannelAdvisor must be mapped one-to-one to a specific carrier and class within NetDespatch. If a particular order does not meet the requirements of the carrier’s service, an error will be logged in the NetDespatch Integration interface and the order will not be shipped.
