Getting Started with the NetDespatch Connector

Before getting started with the NetDespatch Interface Connector, please be aware of these important requirements:

  1. Please fill in this onboarding form for NetDespatch (if you haven’t done so already).
  2. Ensure the Velocity Connector is setup on your PC – this is the NetDespatch application you will need to enable for auto-printing of labels.
  3. Access the NDI Interface via this link if you do not have a username/password for the connector then please reach out to your ChannelAdvisor contact who will be able to assist you.

 

Prerequisites


Before beginning the setup with the NetDespatch Interface connector, you will need to complete the following steps:

  1. Note down your Profile ID (PID) – this can be found on your ChannelAdvisor account by navigating to the following page: My Account > Company Setup. The Profile ID will be located under Company Information.
  2. If you intend to use “Royal Mail – Small Packets” or “Royal Mail – Large Letters” you must have 2 distribution centers setup within your ChannelAdvisor account, with all SKU’s assigned to either one or the other distribution center. If you need to create more (very likely) then please refer to this link .
    Tip: We’d recommend that you create the codes RMSP and RMLL for easy referencing.
  3. All carriers & classes that you wish to use must be setup in your ChannelAdvisor account. This can be found on your ChannelAdvisor account by navigating to the following page: Sales > Shipping > Account Shipping Carriers. If you need further information please refer to this link . Weights must be added to each SKU.
  4. Any inventory that may be shipped using Royal Mail International must have data in the Width, Length and Weight fields in ChannelAdvisor.
  5. You will also need an active account with one of the carriers that NetDespatch is integrated with e.g Royal Mail.

 

Tasks to Complete


Please complete the following tasks to set up the NetDispatch Connector integration:

  1. Login
  2. Configuring your ChannelAdvisor Complete account in the NDI
  3. Configuring your distribution centers in the NDI
  4. Configuring your NetDespatch credentials in the NDI
  5. Configuring your Carrier and Class Mappings in the NDI
  6. Configuring the Sync Schedules
  7. Setup Integrated Labels

 

Login

  1. Load this link on your browser and enter your NDI credentials (provided by ChannelAdvisor).

  2. You can change the password by clicking on My Account, thereafter providing a new password and clicking Submit (this is optional).

 

Configuring your ChannelAdvisor Complete account in the NDI

  1. Click on Configuration.
  2. Select ChannelAdvisor Accounts and click Add.

  3. Submit your Profile ID. You will then automatically be brought onto the main configuration page. On this page, simply click on Request Authorization.

  4. Login to ChannelAdvisor to authorize the integration, navigate to My Account > Developer Network > Account Authorizations and click on Approve Access.

  5. Return to the NDI page and click on Verify Authorization. ( Important: Repeat steps 2-5 for each posting account that you wish to link to NetDespatch).

 

Configuring your distribution centers in the NDI

  1. Click on Configuration.
  2. Under the heading Distribution Centers click Add:

  3. Select the Profile ID that this distribution center is connected to. If you are using the same distribution center for each posting account then you must set up the distribution center in the NDI for each posting account. You will likely have 3 distribution centers if you are using Royal Mail Large Letter, Small Packets, and UK Mail.
  4. Enter the Distribution Center Code exactly as how it appears in ChannelAdvisor.
  5. Enter your contact info and address for the distribution center. The contact name and telephone number are mandatory.

 

Configuring your NetDespatch credentials in the NDI

  1. Click on Configuration.
  2. Under the heading NetDespatch Accounts click Add:

  3. Select the carrier and input your carrier username (this will have been provided by NetDespatch). If for example, you select Royal Mail as the carrier then you must provide the Royal Mail carrier username (this is typically a numerical value). Please note that for Royal Mail you will have two sets of credentials – one for Domestic and one for International – so these will both need to be added.

 

Configuring your Carrier and Class Mappings in the NDI

  1. Click on Configuration.
  2. Under the heading Carrier and Class Mappings click Add:

  3. You will then see the following page:

    1. Select the Posting Account.
    2. Select the Distribution Center.
    3. Select whether this particular mapping is Domestic or International.
    4. Select the Carrier value that you created in ChannelAdvisor.
    5. Select the Class value that you created in ChannelAdvisor.
    6. Select the correct NetDespatch username.
    7. Select the Class from NetDespatch (the actual Royal Mail value). Be sure to only select the services that have been enabled on your account.
    8. Select the Carrier that you would like to be submitted to the marketplace.
    9. Select the Class that you would like to be submitted to the marketplace.

Repeat the above steps until all carriers and classes have been mapped. Please note: Each carrier and class from ChannelAdvisor can only be mapped once to a NetDespatch carrier and class.

 

Configuring the Sync Schedules

  1. Click on Configuration.
  2. Under the heading click on Syncs, you will then see the following screen:

    1. Select the Posting Account.
    2. Select the Distribution Center.
    3. Select Active and then click Submit.

Please note: The sync schedule needs to be setup with one per posting account. Once this has been submitted the NDI will automatically check your ChannelAdvisor accounts every minute automatically for orders that are “pending shipment”.
