Creating a File for Bulk Upload of Shipping and Tracking Information

Using a spreadsheet is the preferred method when working with many orders. The spreadsheet can then be uploaded to ChannelAdvisor via the User Interface or via FTP. If working with a low number of orders you may want to consider Updating Shipping and Tracking Information Manually via the User Interface .

How to Create a File for Bulk Upload of Shipping and Tracking Information

To create a file for Bulk Upload using your order information complete the following steps:

  1. Navigate to your Sales > Orders/Transactions > Orders view.
  2. Filter for the orders that you have fulfilled and wish to update.
  3. Select the Export All Invoice Information link.
  4. Select any fields you wish to include in your export making sure to include at a minimum the following fields (please see Import Shipping and Tracking File Template for all requirements):
    • ChannelAdvisor Order ID (Required)
    • SKU (Mandatory for partial order shipping)
    • Tracking Number (Highly Recommended)
  5. Input your Tracking Numbers.
  6. Save your file.

Considerations

Keep the following items in mind when completing this task:

  • If the marketplace can accept further details about the transaction such as carrier, class or tracking number then those details will be sent as long as you have provided that data. This can significantly reduce questions from buyers asking for the status or information about their item, so including as much detail as possible when shipping invoices is always helpful.
  • If there is no date in the ‘date shipped’ field, the system will use the date the import occurred as the shipping date.
  • If a line contains an invalid Invoice ID or other improper data, that line's update will fail. The rest of the file will process normally.
  • Partial shipment line items must contain both SKU and Quantity values.
  • You can see the status of your shipment tracking file upload in the Inventory > Upload/Download Status view.

Having problems finding valid values on the upload spreadsheet

Having problems finding valid values on the upload spreadsheet. I am going round and round looking for the valid values, but just cant seem to find the info. It would be nice to have a link from this page.

valid values

I'll second Cory Smith's request for valid value examples.  For instance,  I would like to add Date Shipped to my feed, but am affraid to.  I'm sure you know there are countless ways to express a date.  If my tracking is not updated for the few days of certain trial and error, my seller ratings will suffer.

ive been through the same

ive been through the same issue with support for weeks. and im still more confused than ever. One day they give yo an answer and say one thing then the next day they give you another answer saying that what you did before was wrong even thoguh they are theones that told you to do it. and this goes around in circles for weeks. then they send you a link to an outdated valid value sheet which you follow and yet still the uplaod file fails.
