Google Shopping Campaigns may also be created within your AdWords account. Please refer to this Google AdWords Help page for detailed instructions.

Enable AutoTrack

Now, you must synchronize your Google Shopping Campaign with ChannelAdvisor in order to accurately track your campaign performance results:

  1. Navigate to Digital Marketing > Account Settings > Provider Accounts.
  2. Click Edit AutoTrack for the Google account you created previously.
  3. Select the Google Shopping Campaign you created. It may already be checked if you choose to Track All Campaigns when configuring the provider, but it's a good idea to double-check that the campaign is checked here.
  4. Click Save.

The AutoTrack feature will convert your existing Campaign to use ChannelAdvisor tracking URLs for each Product Listing Ad. When enabled, the system will download your AdWords account into ChannelAdvisor and replace the existing destination URLs with ChannelAdvisor tracking URLs.

Please consider the following before enabling this feature:

  • If you are not using ChannelAdvisor for keyword management, you should set up your Product Listing Ads in separate campaigns and only enable AutoTrack on those campaigns. You can choose to deselect campaigns from the Provider Accounts Edit Autotrack page.
  • If you currently have values in your product groups' DestinationURL field in AdWords, we will overwrite these values with our tracking information.
  • In order to run Product Listing Ads, a campaign must be enabled for product extensions. We do not currently have the ability to enable product extensions in our interface, this must be done in Google AdWords.
  • If you use a different service for other Google Ads, you should not check the Track All Campaigns checkbox when you configure the provider. If you are a Comparison Shopping client or only using ChannelAdvisor for Google Shopping Campaigns, you should choose to only sync campaigns with Product Listing Ads. See this Enable Product Listing Ads Tracking page for additional details.

When you have completed this step you will then need to make sure your accounts have been synced:

  1. Return to Digital Marketing > Account Settings > Provider Accounts.
  2. Select the Google AdWords account you entered previously.
  3. Click the Sync Now button.

ChannelAdvisor will now be able to track all cost data (impressions, clicks, marketing cost, and the like) coming from your Google AdWords account. And finally, navigate to the Google Shopping Dashboard (Digital Marketing > Dashboards > Google Shopping) and click Enable Product Listing Ads Tracking. This will insert tracking information on your product groups in AdWords and allow you to monitor your campaign performance in ChannelAdvisor.

We recommend tracking Product Listing Ads in campaigns separate from your other Google Ads. Your account is automatically set up to AutoTrack but should you decide to disable certain campaigns you may do so by clicking Edit Auto Track next to the specific provider on the Provider Accounts page. You may then uncheck the box next to Enable AutoTrack and then select the campaigns you wish to Activate or Deactivate.

All campaigns created by ChannelAdvisor will default to being tracked regardless of whether you have marked tracking for all active campaigns. To remove tracking for a campaign that you have created using ChannelAdvisor software, you will need to manually opt it out of tracking from the Edit Autotrack page for that provider.
