Customizing Packing Slip Templates

Packing slips can be printed from the Sales > Orders/Transactions > Shipments page in ChannelAdvisor. The format of these packing slips is controlled using tags to design a unique template which meets your own branding, messaging or operational needs.

 

Viewing Packing Slip Templates


  1. Go to Sales > Settings > Sales Templates.
  2. Type Packing Slip into the search field at the top to filter the list to show only the packing slip templates.
  3. Click on any Packing Slip template to edit.

 

Creating New Packing Slip Templates


  1. Go to Sales > Settings > Sales Templates.
  2. At the top right of the page click on the Create New Template drop-down button.
  3. Select Packing Slip.
  4. Proceed with the instructions below to edit and save a new template.

 

Editing Packing Slip Templates


  1. Name – Enter a name to describe your packing slip template. This name will used on the Sales Template list and in the Print Packing Slips dropdown button on the Shipments page.
  2. Template Tags – Choose among 3 different types of tags from the drop-down menu: Fulfillment, Fulfillment Item, and Special. Based on your choice the options in the second drop-down will differ. These tags can be placed anywhere in the invoice body using HTML.
    • Fulfillment Tags include general fields such as address, order date, shipping tracking numbers, etc.
    • Fulfillment Item tags can be used on the row with an item included on the packing slip. These fields are specific to the items displayed on the packing slip such as item title and quantity.
    • Special tags can display barcodes in the invoice. The available barcode formats are CODE 128, CODE 39, EAN-13, ISBN, and UPC-A.
  3. Packing Slip HTML Template – You can customize the packing slip body format. The template should include the page size, headers, footers, and images. In the example, this includes everything except the data printing in the line item detail.
  4. Packing Slip Line Item HTML Template – Use this section to list each item that will be included in the box. You can include special features such as the barcode or the line item detail from inventory
  5. Preview – Select one of your sites and an order to preview how its order information will appear in the packing slip.
  6. When done, select the Save or Save and Exitbutton at the top of the page.
