Installing Tracking Pixels in a Standard Store

To properly install ChannelAdvisor's tracking pixel in a ChannelAdvisor Store you need to slightly modify the standard code so that it references the proper values for Order Amount, Order ID and Product ID. Once you have the code for your account you need to replace some of the parameters so that the proper values are referenced within your Checkout.   You should get the actual code for your account rather than using the sample code below.

  1. Get Code from your account.  Here is example code you would copy from your account, you can find this by going to My Account > Account Settings > Tracking Pixel 
    The <clientid> will be your actual account ID.  Do not edit this value once you copy from your account.
     
  2. Replace the following values:
    • [order amount here] should be replaced with {{ORDERSUBTOTAL}}
    • [order ID here] should be replaced with {{ORDERID}}
    • [product ID, product ID] should be replaced with {{ITEMSKULIST}
Warning! - Do not just copy and paste the examples shown above.  Without your proper account ID (the SMCID parameter) this will not work correctly.

Steps to Add Tracking Pixels to your Store


You can install the necessary Natural Search and Confirmation pixels for your ChannelAdvisor Store from within the ChannelAdvisor Complete application. The instructions to do so are provided below.

  1. From the main menu choose Stores > Stores > Store Tracking. The Stores Tracking Page will appear.
  2. In the "Other Vendors Web Analytics Tracking" section there are two sub-sections:
    • Item Detail Page Tracking (to install the Natural Search pixel on each product landing page).
    • Checkout Order Confirmation Page Tracking (to install the Confirmation pixel on the checkout page)
  3. Check the box next to each title to enable the section.
  4. Enter in the relevant pixel tracking code.
  5. To add values to the pixel code (i.e. Order Value, Order ID, etc), please refer to the example tags at the bottom of the Store Tracking page.
