ChannelAdvisor can accept your file in the ChannelAdvisor format, custom format or XML package via the User Interface.

Uploading Inventory in Bulk via the User Interface

Complete the following tasks related to this topic:

1. Compile your product data and save it into one of the accepted file formats. (If you have data in ChannelAdvisor you can simply perform an export)
2. Within your file you can perform the following actions:
• Create new inventory
• Edit existing inventory
• Delete field values by typing "_DELETE_" (Leaving a field blank will not delete a field value)
3. When you have completed your additions and edits save your file
4. From Inventory > Products > Upload a File, select Browse and locate the inventory file on your computer.
5. Select a file processing method.  Note: the Detect Dropped Items method will only be visible if it is the default FTP file processing method.
6. [Optional] Select a Template to apply business rules to the product information supplied in your file. Note: This step is mandatory when uploading a custom file. 
7. Click Upload to add the items in your file to inventory

Your inventory file will be processed. To view the completion progress go to the Inventory > Products > Upload/Download Status view.

The following file formats are supported when uploading your inventory into ChannelAdvisor

• Text Tab Delimited (.txt)
• Text Pipe Delimited (.txt)
• Comma Separated (.csv)
• XML
• .zip, .gzip, or .tar containing any of the above file types
