Each inventory upload file that is sent to ChannelAdvisor contains data using field names, called Headers, that define the information contained in each field. An upload file may contain headers that are not recognized by the ChannelAdvisor system. In order to use a template you must first define the header fields that are contained in your upload file.

Select one of the following methods to upload header values into ChannelAdvisor.

Please note that header values can not start with a number.

Upload Header Values Manually

Via the ChannelAdvisor User Interface you have the option to add each header value manually one-by-one. Complete the steps below to complete this task:

1. Navigate to your  Inventory > Product Mapping > Headers View.
    
2. Click the Add Headers button.
    
3. Type the header name in the box that appears.
    
4. Click Add to save the new header to the list.
    
5. Repeat this process for each header value
    
6. Map your template 

Upload Header Values in Bulk

If your upload file contains many columns of header data, it may be easier to upload a sample file rather than creating your headers list one-by-one. After you have uploaded a sample file, you can begin mapping the headers to ChannelAdvisor inventory fields in the Template.

1. Navigate to your   Inventory > Product Mapping > Headers View.
   
   
2. Click the Upload Headers button.
   
   
3. Click the Browse button to locate the sample headers file on your computer.
   
   
4. Click Upload to process the sample header file and add the field names to the list.
    
5. Map your template
