Defining File HeadersEach inventory upload file that is sent to ChannelAdvisor contains data using field names, called Headers, that define the information contained in each field. An upload file may contain headers that are not recognized by the ChannelAdvisor system. In order to use a template you must first define the header fields that are contained in your upload file. Please note that header values can not start with a number. Upload Header Values ManuallyVia the ChannelAdvisor User Interface you have the option to add each header value manually one-by-one. Upload Header Values in BulkIf your upload file contains many columns of header data, it may be easier to upload a sample file rather than creating your headers list one-by-one. After you have uploaded a sample file, you can begin mapping the headers to ChannelAdvisor inventory fields in the Template.
Support for Headerless Upload FilesIf you are working with suppliers that do not support sending inventory updates in the proper file/header format, you can take advanatge of our Headerless Upload File feature. Our platform can now successfully upload inventory files without column headers. Here's how you can take advantage of this feature:
