How To

Creating Seller-Managed Distribution Centers

Each ChannelAdvisor account should be configured with at least one Seller-Managed DC. If your business has multiple fulfilment warehouse locations, you can configure additional Seller-Managed DCs, however, a specific inventory item (SKU) may be assigned to only one Seller-Managed DC. For example, your SKU 123 is fulfilled from your Dallas TX DC.

The same SKU can also be fulfilled from an Externally-Managed DC . For example, your SKU 123 is fulfilled from your Dallas TX DC or your Amazon FBA US account. ChannelAdvisor offers a  FBA Warehouse Auto-Flip setting to address this.

If you are using some eBay or Checkout features it is important that you configure all of your Seller-Managed DCs so that accurate shipping rates can be configured for your account. When shipping rates must be determined for that inventory item, ChannelAdvisor checks the assigned Distribution Center and uses that information to calculate the shipping rate for the buyer. This rate calculation is used in the Shipping Calculator on listings as well as in the ChannelAdvisor Checkout.
