The inventory shipping rate is the item-specific shipping rate. This enables you to specify a shipping rate for each unique item. If an inventory item level shipping rate is detected, that information will always be used to calculate the shipping cost.

You should only include shipping rates on the inventory item edit page if that is always the carrier(s) and shipping rate(s) which will be used to ship that particular item. Item level shipping rates can also be defined using the ChannelAdvisor Upload Spreadsheet .

Please Note: If the exact shipping rate cannot be determined before the item is posted to the marketplace, the inventory item level shipping fields should not be used.

Configuring Flat Rate Item Level Shipping

To configure Item Level Shipping Rates follow these steps:

1. Select Inventory > Products > All Products
2. Locate the SKU that you would like to assign shipping rates to and click on the SKU id number to edit
3. On the Edit Item page, select the Shipping tab
4. Enter the Shipping and Handling rates for your item
5. Click Save and Exit 

Item level shipping rates should be entered into the fields for all eligible shipping methods. If the item you are editing cannot be shipped by a specific method that you have enabled, do not enter a shipping rate for that shipping method. For example, if you have enabled FedEx-Overnight in your account shipping carrier settings , but you do not ship this item using that carrier/class combination, then do not enter a shipping rate for that row on the edit item page.

• First Item Rate : This shipping amount will be used for the first item on all invoices for this account.
• First Item Handling : This handling markup amount will be used for the first item on all invoices for this account.
• Each Add't Item Rate : Once the first item shipping rate is determined, this amount will be used for each additional item on an invoice containing two or more items.
• Each Add't Item Handling : Once the first item handling markup amount is determined, this amount will be used for each additional item on an invoice containing two or more items.
• ' Free if Buy It Now ' may be used to provide free shipping to items in Checkout that were purchased on the eBay Marketplace.

Multiple Item Sale Example: An invoice with 3 items, where the 'First Item' rate is $10.00 and the 'Each Additional Item' rate is $1.00, will result in a final shipping cost of $12.00.
