Resolving Amazon Errors
There are a wide range of listing errors that you may receive when listing to Amazon. Some errors are significant and will keep your products from listing on to the marketplace while other errors are less serious. For the less serious errors, although your product may list successfully, chances are that it is not listed optimally according to Amazon's standards. Typically there are two methods of resolving an Amazon error. The method you choose will depend on the error you have received as well as how your data is organized.
Because Amazon requests a large amount of data for items in multiple categories and has many requirements, it is not uncommon to receive multiple listing errors. Refer to the Common Amazon Errors page for an extensive list of errors and hints on how to resolve them.
Method 1: Edit Your Amazon Template Mappings
The Amazon Template is what tells ChannelAdvisor what data to send to Amazon. Failure to map the appropriate fields with the appropriate values from your inventory can result in listing errors. When you receive a listing error it is almost always a good idea to check your template. Some things to look out for are as follows:
- According to the Inventory File Templates on Seller Central, have I mapped all of the template fields that are "required" by Amazon to list successfully?
- Have I mapped using the correct attribute in my inventory?
- Have I setup the appropriate Business Rule or Lookup List to transform my data into a value accepted by Amazon?
Method 2: Edit Your Inventory Data
If you find the template appears to be mapped correctly and in according to Amazon's specifications, more then likely the source of the error is in your inventory data. Some things to look out for are as follows:
- Am I sending values that are accepted by Amazon according to the Inventory File Templates on Seller Central?
- Can I use a Business Rule or Lookup List to transform my existing data into a value accepted by Amazon?
- Do I need to create a new attribute in my inventory and populate it with an accepted value?
Please Note: If you're unsure about what fields need to be mapped and what values are accepted by Amazon, reference the Inventory File Templates located on Amazon Seller Central.
Product Performance View
In addition to the Amazon 360 Dashboard there is now a Product Performance view that will allow you to go more in depth with your products on Amazon. This view allows you to search for specific SKUs in your Amazon feed to compare your product details side-by-side with the Amazon product page for that SKU. Simply navigate to your Marketplaces > Amazon > Products > Product Performance view and search for any SKU within your Amazon feed to view these details.
