Tasks to Complete

To configure eBay Checkout you must first decide on the most appropriate Payment, Shipping, and Tax methods according to your business practices. Based on these choices you will then need to make some specific configurations within your posting templates on ChannelAdvisor as well within your eBay seller account. Below are the steps to implement your eBay Checkout Settings.

  1. Configure Payment Methods – The PayPal service is the preferred method at this time to use and is fully supported by eBay checkout. There are alternate methods available, but they are not recommended to use at this time.
  2. Configure Shipping Options – eBay supports three types of shipping rate options: Flat, Calculated and Freight. Using either flat or calculated shipping allows the eBay checkout process to determine the proper shipping rate for each buyer as they proceed through the checkout process. Multiple items will be consolidated into a single order and combine the shipping for all items on the order.
  3. Configure Tax Settings  – For US sellers that charge their buyers a tax for each sale there are several options to choose from that vary from charging a tax in just one state, multiple states or for some larger retailers that charge a tax at the municipal level.
  4. Configure eBay Settings in ChannelAdvisor – A detailed outline of the eBay settings configured in ChannelAdvisor can be found on the eBay Settings Page . Below are a list of the settings that impact your eBay checkout configuration.
    • Unpaid Sales – You can enable the notifications in ChannelAdvisor or choose to use the ones in eBay.
    • Sales Notifications – eBay will automatically generate these notifications. In order to avoid sending duplicate emails to customers do not enable sales notifications in ChannelAdvisor
    • Feedback – Only enable Automatic Positive Feedback option, but this is not required.
    • eBay Shipping Mapping – For each Shipping option configured in ChannelAdvisor map to the appropriate eBay shipping option
