Specifying Return Locations for Jet

Jet published a new returns flow in August 2015. In this new flow, retail partners no longer need to “acknowledge” their return via the Jet Returns API. It is now only necessary for retailers to “complete” their return. In order to ensure a positive Jet shopper experience, Jet expects that all Retail Partners promptly review and process returns within 2 business days after receiving the item.

This new flow offers some increased functionality on how you wish to send a return location:

  1. Provide Returns Information when Shipping: Provide a specific return location in the shipped message. This return location must be a location that has been set up in Jet partner portal, and is a location that accepts returns.
     
  2. Item Level Returns Exceptions: Returns exceptions can be set up by SKU via the Jet template in ChannelAdvisor. You can configure three return option fields on the template:
    1. Return Location ID: Which location accepts returns for this item (if only accepted at certain locations). 
      1. To Retrieve the Return Location ID, login to your Jet Partner Portal, and navigate to Fulfillment. From here you will see the Return Node ID,for each of your locations.

    2. Time to Return: The amount of time (>30 days) a customer has to return an item. It must align with their returns policy.
    3. Return Shipping Methods: Any special shipping methods needed to return the item e.g. UPS Ground, UPS Next Day Air, FedEx Home.

      If using this option, please make sure to select Specify a return location at the item level on the Return Location Id field on the Jet template. If no value is provided, Returns Location will be based on the Returns Locations configured in the Jet Partner Portal. under Marketplaces > Jet > Settings > Jet Settings > Specify Return Location Section in your ChannelAdvisor account.
     
  3. Jet selects the closest location from any of the returns locations set up in the Partner Portal. At least one return location has to be setup to start selling on Jet.
