Common Queries Information for Sellers
What is the CAT-ID? Where can I find it?

CAT-ID is the listing reference that Tesco has for products.

Since 2014, Tesco no longer provides the CAT-ID to us via the integration. To find the CAT-ID we recommend that you ask your Tesco Partner Manager for a copy of your Seller Flow Report. This report will give you lots of details on your listings, but will most importantly provide you with the full list of SKUs and their corresponding CAT-ID.

The values available on the data model do not suit my products – how can I ask Tesco to add new values?

You should complete this form and email it to the following people:

Nicola.Joseph@uk.tesco.com and Kendall.Roissetter@uk.tesco.com

They will review the requests and liaise directly with you, the seller.

If Tesco agrees to have new values added, Tesco needs to go through a release cycle to add those to the data model (usually 2 weeks), then that data model update needs to be communicated to ChannelAdvisor (communicated bi-weekly). Finally, ChannelAdvisor will update the version held on our system (usually within 2 weeks of receipt). As a seller, there is no action at this stage – Tesco and ChannelAdvisor will liaise directly to have the data model updated.

Does Tesco support variations? Which categories support variations?

For each category that supports variations on Tesco side, ChannelAdvisor will also support/allow this. To see which categories are variant enabled, please consult the data model . You should pay particular attention to column I. A "Yes" here indicates that the category (which is mentioned in column B) is variant enabled.

To check which attribute/field is actually the variant enabled one; where "Yes" is mentioned in column I, the attribute/field in column D is permitted to vary.
