How To

Add a New Country

ChannelAdvisor allows you to quickly add a new posting account in any supported country for which you do not currently have a posting account. To begin, navigate to My Account > Utilities > Add a New Country.

Note: Only users who have the Group Admin module have the ability to add a new country.

Step One: Review ChannelAdvisor's Agile Cross-Border Trade Framework to understand how to develop your strategy for international expansion.

Select “Get Started” when you are ready to proceed.

Step Two: Review your existing accounts and select a new country.

Note: you may only add new countries. If you need an additional account in a country where you already have an account, please contact support.

Step Three: Select a name, time zone and source account for your new account.  You should select a source account most similar to the new locale, as basic settings will be automatically copied from the source account to the new account.

Caution: once you select a time zone for a new account, it cannot be changed.

Step Four: Choose which settings to copy. You can choose to copy Classifications, Inventory Attributes, Variation Relationships, Labels, Lookup Lists and Business Rules to the new account.

Note: This step does not copy your actual inventory data from one account to another.  For example, this function would replicate the Custom Attribute field names or the Label names from the source account to the destination account.

For each type above, every instance will be copied to the new account (i.e. all business rules will copy). If you would like to copy specific ones, feel free to skip this step and use Copy Account Assets once the new account is created.

  • If you choose to copy Inventory Attributes, we will also copy the required Classifications to prevent errors, even if you did not choose to copy Classifications.
  • If you choose to copy Variation Relationships, we will also copy the required Inventory Attributes and Classifications to prevent errors, even if you did not choose to copy Classifications or Inventory Attributes.
  • If you choose to copy Business Rules, we will also copy the required Lookup Lists, Inventory Attributes and Classifications to avoid errors, even if you did not choose to copy them.

Step Five: Select “Create Account” to create your new account. This process will take a few moments before you’re able to use the new account. An account message will appear in the Message Center when your new account is ready.

Note: This process does not copy your Inventory data. You will need to send your Inventory data via upload, FTP or API into this new account.
