Creating Provider Campaigns

The instructions on this page are for setting up Search campaigns on Google, Yahoo, or MSN.

To set up Content network campaigns, see the Advertising on Google's Content Network page.

The Paid Search module has a feature to allow the bulk upload of ad groups, creative, and keywords all at once across multiple providers. This powerful feature, Master Upload  can save time and also help keep the different providers in sync.

How to Create an Ad Campaign on Google

To create an Ad Campaign on Google Adwords:

  1. In ChannelAdvisor, select  Paid Search > Campaigns > Campaigns . Then click on the New Campaign button.
  2. Select a Provider from the drop-down menu. (Selecting the provider populates the account name, which you can change.)
  3. Name the Campaign .
  4. Enter the daily Budget for this campaign.
  5. Enter the P rovider Details.
  6. In Google Adwords, c heck the Optimize Ad Serving to show better performing ads more often to searchers.
  7. Check the desired  Network Targeting  options to have your keywords appear on Google’s search and content partners.
  8. For Geography Targeting do the following:
    1. Select country or country regions
    2. Select the target areas and Add them to the campaign.
    3. Select the languages and Add them to the campaign.

How to Create an Ad Campaign on MSN

To create an Ad Campaign on MSN:

  1. In ChannelAdvisor, select   Paid Search > Campaigns > Campaigns  . Then click on the  New Campaign  button.
  2. Select a  Provider  from the drop-down menu. (Selecting the provider populates the account name, which you can change.)
  3. Name the  Campaign  .
  4. Enter the daily  Budget  for this campaign.
  5. Enter the P  rovider Details.
  6. In MSN Search, choose a Time Zone.
  7. Choose the language and region combination for the campaign. The language refers to the language used by the consumer and the region refers to the MSN site.
  8. Categories created within this MSN campaign will use this setting as their default. This allows you to upload new categories using a Bulk Upload 
    1. spreadsheet without having to include this setting. Changing this campaign setting will only impact future categories.
    2. Click Submit to create the new campaign.
Note : You cannot change the language and region for a category after it is set.
 

Duplicating and Copying Campaigns

Sometimes retailers will want to run the same or a very similar Search campaign on more than one search provider. Direct cloning of a campaign from Google to other providers is prohibited by Google's Terms and Conditions.
