The backbone of ChannelAdvisor's functionality is our ability to regularly send and receive information on your behalf to a variety of channels. Outlined below are the frequencies and durations of various actions and processes in the system for Marketplaces. Note that depending on the volume and complexity of data being processed, the amount of time it takes to process, communicate, and update data could vary significantly. If you notice that your account has been significantly deviating from the times outlined in this guide, please contact support , being sure to include the date and time details of the issue you're seeing in the support case. Including this information will allow us to investigate the issue more accurately. The tables below are for the following supported marketplaces:

Amazon Marketplaces & Amazon FBA

Changed Product Detail Update

Full product details, including the price, which has changed in your inventory will be sent to Amazon to update the information on your product listing.

If you are repricing, the listing price mentioned above will be updated with this communication activity. See also Repricing Price Update activity below.

Within 30 minutes of a change to inventory information

A full product feed will be triggered as a result of template changes, business rule changes, look-up list changes and feed settings changes. The full product feed will be set to run in the next scheduled feed – sometime in the next half hour. Please note that if the catalog is large, other feeds, such as price and quantity updates, may get stuck behind this full extract.

Every 24 hours any changes to business rules and lookup lists will be sent.

Quantity Update

Changes in quantity will be sent to Amazon to update your product listing. When an item is sold on Amazon, listing quantity is adjusted by Amazon immediately.

Within 20 minutes of a change to quantity, not as a result of a sale on Amazon

Order Retrieval

 

 

 

Order information is retrieved from Amazon after it has been cleared by Amazon's fraud check.

 

 

Within 15 minutes of being made available by Amazon

If your account is enabled for Pending Orders, then the pending order will import and quantity will be decremented from the total available quantity. If your account is not enabled for Pending Orders, orders are subject to a 30+ minute hold to check for fraud and Amazon can take up to 15 minutes to prepare the order report.

If you do not have Pending Orders enabled, while an order is pending, ChannelAdvisor will account for the order's quantity and update the quantity for Amazon to avoid an oversell situation on that marketplace. The actual order, however, will not be retrieved until it is cleared and released by Amazon. At this point, the quantity will be updated for all other channels. We pull in the FBA Orders from Amazon once a day after Amazon makes the report available.

Multi Channel FBA Fulfillment Requests to FBA

Communication of fulfillment request to Amazon FBA when orders come in from other channels (e.g. eBay, Sears, Rakuten); For eBay orders, the order must be in a "payment cleared" status.

Immediate communication of fulfillment request with Multi-Channel orders polled for updates each hour

Multi Channel FBA Order Download

Amazon will meet or exceed the buyer's shipping request Standard (3-5 Days), Expedited (2 Business Days) or Priority (1 Business Day) and will notify ChannelAdvisor when the order has shipped. ChannelAdvisor will check Amazon for FBA shipments although Amazon may not ship for 24-48 hours.

Repricing Price Update

ChannelAdvisor works with Amazon's price event notifications (PENs) to monitor, evaluate and adjust pricing based on your rules and changes to your product listings. This process runs continuously and depending on the number of SKUs you have and/or the complexity of any business rules you are using, pricing can be updated in ChannelAdvisor within minutes.

Once pricing is updated in ChannelAdvisor, the Changed Product Detail Update activity, described above, runs to send the updated price to Amazon.

An example for reference:
11:45 - Last changed product update started
12:00 - Changes made to 100 titles
12:45 - ChannelAdvisor begins the process to send the update on these 100 SKUs to Amazon. All of the information about the SKU is sent, not just the changed titles. The general process is:

  • ChannelAdvisor looks through inventory to find any changes
  • ChannelAdvisor identifies the 100 SKUs with title changes
  • ChannelAdvisor compiles the information to be sent based on the template
  • ChannelAdvisor sends a feed/message to Amazon with the appropriate inventory information on these 100 SKUs
  • Amazon processes the message sent by ChannelAdvisor and lists/updates the product on Amazon.com – each marketplace has processes on their end that can also take time to complete
  • Amazon sends ChannelAdvisor a message indicating success or error on the 100 items
  • NOTE: This can take anywhere from a few minutes to hours depending on the complexity of your template and number of SKUs.

12:55 - Changes are made to 2000 descriptions
1:45 - ChannelAdvisor begins the same process outlined above to send the update on these 2000 SKUs. The amount of time 2000 SKUs takes to process should be ~20x the amount of time it took for 100 of your SKUs to process and for Amazon to reply to ChannelAdvisor with success/failure messages.
2:45 - ChannelAdvisor will check if there are any other changes to send to Amazon. Since none were made no update is sent.

ChannelAdvisor works with Amazon's price event notifications (PENs) to monitor, evaluate and adjust pricing based on your rules and changes to your product listings. This process runs continuously and depending on the number of SKUs you have and/or the complexity of any business rules you are using, pricing can be updated in ChannelAdvisor within minutes.

Once pricing is updated in ChannelAdvisor, the Changed Product Detail Update activity, described above, runs to send the updated price to Amazon.

11:45 - Last changed product update started
12:00 - Changes made to 100 titles
12:45 - ChannelAdvisor begins the process to send the update on these 100 SKUs to Amazon. All of the information about the SKU is sent, not just the changed titles. The general process is:

  • ChannelAdvisor looks through inventory to find any changes
  • ChannelAdvisor identifies the 100 SKUs with title changes
  • ChannelAdvisor compiles the information to be sent based on the template
  • ChannelAdvisor sends a feed/message to Amazon with the appropriate inventory information on these 100 SKUs
  • Amazon processes the message sent by ChannelAdvisor and lists/updates the product on Amazon.com – each marketplace has processes on their end that can also take time to complete
  • Amazon sends ChannelAdvisor a message indicating success or error on the 100 items
  • NOTE: This can take anywhere from a few minutes to hours depending on the complexity of your template and number of SKUs.

12:55 - Changes are made to 2000 descriptions
1:45 - ChannelAdvisor begins the same process outlined above to send the update on these 2000 SKUs. The amount of time 2000 SKUs takes to process should be ~20x the amount of time it took for 100 of your SKUs to process and for Amazon to reply to ChannelAdvisor with success/failure messages.
2:45 - ChannelAdvisor will check if there are any other changes to send to Amazon. Since none were made no update is sent.
