Recommending Upsell ItemsThe Webstore Checkout provides the ability to offer up to four (4) additional "upsell" items to the buyer during buyer Checkout. The upsell feature is used to offer accessory or complimentary items such as computer bags, connection cables, monitors, camera bags, camera lenses and film as the buyer checks out. These upsell items can be defined on an item-by-item basis at the inventory level, or by similar product groups based on the classification record. A single item may have multiple upsell items defined that can be offered to buyers at checkout. It is easy to associate upsell relationships between items, or groups of items, using the functions provided in various views throughout ChannelAdvisor. You can also assign upsells to many items using the inventory spreadsheet to map related inventory items together as upsell matches.
PrerequisitesTasks to CompleteSpecific Inventory Item Upsell RelationshipsAn inventory record is used to manage all of the information that describes your items, including defining related Checkout upsell items. When a buyer purchases an item that has a related upsell match defined, the related upsell items will be displayed to the buyer during Checkout, allowing the buyer to add the upsell item(s) to their order. To specify related items at the inventory record level:
By entering a "Max Qty Per Purchase" and an "Item Price" you can specify the maximum number of items a single buyer may add to their checkout, as well as a "special" price for the item that is only good during Checkout, such as a deeply discounted rate. The maximum purchase quantity allows you to limit the number of items a buyer may add to their cart so that the buyer cannot purchase all of your inventory quantity at a special discounted "deal" rate. Please Note: Max qty will default to "1", and "Item Price" will default to the item's Buy-It-Now price if one has been defined. Classification Level Upsell RelationshipsA Classification is a grouping of similar items in the ChannelAdvisor application. You may use these Classifications to assign specific related upsell items to a large group of inventory items at one time. When you assign an upsell item to a Classification, that upsell item(s) will be displayed to the buyer on the first page of Checkout, allowing the buyer to add the upsell item(s) to their order.
