How To

ChannelAdvisor Complete supports a variety of payment processing options for orders. Each time a buyer completes a purchase through the system, a transaction record will be created in the Transaction Log. These records include information used to refund/credit buyers (also sometimes referred to as cancelling a sale) to track gateway/credit card provider transactions and understand fraud codes.

You will find the following information helpful when refunding buyers and processing payments:

Refunding an eBay or Standard Store Buyer

You can process a partial or full refund to a buyer for cleared payments using the 'Process Credit' icon on the Transaction Log. Please note that in order to process a refund for a PayPal payment, you must first enable 'Refund Processing' directly in your account on the PayPal site.

  1. Select Sales > Orders/Transactions > Transaction Log
  2. Click the 'Process Credit' icon in the Command column
  3. The order information will appear on the Credit page
  4. Enter the 'Credit Amount' to be refunded to the buyer. This amount cannot exceed the Total Order Value
  5. Click 'Process'
  6. A Credit amount row will appear in the Transaction Log to record the refund.
