How To

Selling on Best Buy

The Best Buy Marketplacewas launched in September 2011 and offers products from Best Buy as well as from third-party retailers. The Best Buy Marketplace third-party seller handles shipment and returns. To ensure customer satisfaction with every purchase, the Best Buy Marketplace offers a Marketplace Guarantee.

Please Note: The Best Buy Marketplace is currently only open to select merchants. Best Buy is evaluating merchants based on how their product mix complements the product mix already available on Best Buy. In most cases, Best Buy is reaching out to merchants directly. If you have questions about the selection criteria, process or to determine if you might be a good fit for the Best Buy Marketplace, please contact Best Buy directly at marketplace@bestbuy.com.

How does the Best Buy Marketplace Work?

Best Buy will select the products they wish to list from the listings that the Seller submits to Rakuten (formerly Buy.com). Rakuten is currently acting as an integration partner for the Best Buy marketplace and all feed processing is handled through their system.

On the Best Buy Marketplace, Best Buy maintains a “Buy Button“ and the seller with the lowest price, and highest quantity in the case of equal prices, will obtain the "Buy Button". Additional marketplace sellers offering the same product are also indicated on the main listing as "Available from # Sellers" and these sellers may also capture some part of the sales for this listing . The details of each of the offers is shown on the listing's Buying Options page.

What Are the Requirements For Selling on the Best Buy Marketplace

At this time, the Best Buy Marketplace is highly gated and is selecting the retailers that they believe will add the best and the most appropriate product mix to their marketplace. Their initial focus will be on augmenting the consumer electronics products not currently offered by Best Buy as well as expanding into sports and outdoors, home and garden, and exercise and lifestyle products.
