Yahoo! Stores Setup Guide

The Yahoo! Stores setup guide will lead you through the settings necessary to establish the link between ChannelAdvisor Complete and your Yahoo! Store. Getting Started with the Yahoo Store Connector is as easy as completing these simple steps. You will want to reference each step in this guide while you are going through the Yahoo Stores Setup. 

 

 

Overview


The Yahoo Stores Connector will enable you to:

  • Import orders from your Yahoo Store into  your ChannelAdvisor Account.
  • Send shipment information from your ChannelAdvisor account to your Yahoo Store.
  • Respond to a real-time request for stock availability from your Yahoo Store.

The Yahoo! Stores Connector does NOT allow you to:

  • Send your product Information to your Yahoo Store. 
  • Send cancellation or refund requests to your Yahoo Store.

 

Prerequisites


 

Webstore Account Configurations

In order to allow ChannelAdvisor to communicate with your Yahoo Store you will need to make several configurations within your Yahoo Small Business Store Control Panel. 


 

Tasks to Complete

  1. Log into your Yahoo! Small Business Store Control Panel , 
  2. Click the Real-Time Links link, located in the Order Settings column. 
  3. Click the API Settings link. 
  4. In the API Settings section, click the Add New Partner button. 
  5. Enter the ChannelAdvisor Partner ID (ypa-005405454306), then click Next.
  6. Accept the Terms of Service.
  7. Forward the API Confirmation email from Yahoo, including the API Token, to your ChannelAdvisor Launch Manager or Support Representative.
  8. (Optional) Provide your ChannelAdvisor Launch Manager or Support Representative with a recent order number (so that ChannelAdvisor can start reviewing orders from that number forward)

 

 

 

ChannelAdvisor Account Configurations


In this section you will need to complete a few settings within your ChannelAdvisor account to complete the Yahoo Stores Connector integration with ChannelAdvisor.

Tasks to Complete

  1. In ChannelAdvisor, navigate to Webstores Yahoo Stores! > Settings
  2. Enter your Yahoo Store Account Name (e.g. yhst-1234567890123). You can find this by navigating to the Yahoo Store Manager > Store Account Information section of your Yahoo! Small Business Store Control Panel 
  3. Select Save

Please Note: Once these steps are complete ChannelAdvisor will be notified and will make some additional configuration within your account. Do not proceed to the next step until you have received notification from ChannelAdvisor that it is OK to do so.
 

 

 

Variation Configurations


If your item is available in a variety of sizes or styles, for example, your customers can use pull down menus to select their desired options from a single item page you will need to supply a SKU code for each child SKU. This SKU code will need to match the Child SKU Name you are currently using in ChannelAdvisor.

Apply Child SKU Codes Manually

  1. Navigate to your Store Manager > Catalog Manager view within your Yahoo! Small Business Store Control Panel and select the Products Tab
  2. Select the ID of the Parent SKU you wish to add variation options to
  3. Locate the options field and enter option criteria.For example, a shirt could be available in two colors (Red, Blue) and two sizes (Small, Medium). These options would be entered as follows:
    • Color Red Blue 
    • Size Small Medium 
  4. Select the Enter Individual Item Codes link
     
  5. For each variation combination enter the corresponding Child SKU used in ChannelAdvisor.
  6. Select Save and Continue

Apply Child SKU Codes in Bulk Via Spreadsheet

  1. Navigate to your Store Manager > Catalog Manager view within your Yahoo! Small Business Store Control Panel and select the Products Tab
  2. Download your products table as a CSV file
  3. Populate the the Code Column for each Parent SKU using the following format: 

    Parent SKU Name;Variation Option 1:Variation Value#Variation Option 2:Variation Value 2=Child SKU Name

    Example:

    tshirt01
    ;Color:Red#Size:S=tshirt01-red-S

Activate Webstore Connector


In this section you will turn on your Yahoo Store to begin managing orders and shipping within ChannelAdvisor.

Tasks to Complete

  1. In ChannelAdvisor, navigate to Webstores > Yahoo Stores! > Settings
  2. Turn on Managing Orders and Shipments
  3. Copy the Real-Time Inventory Check Call Script from the Settings page 
  4. Log into your Yahoo! Small Business Store Control Panel , 
  5. Click the Real-Time Links link, located in the Order Settings column. 
  6. Click the Real -Time Link Settings link
  7. Paste the value into the Real Time Inventory Checking: Call Script field.
     
The Yahoo Connector will now begin importing orders.  The first import may take a long time depending on the number of orders that need to be reviewed.
 

 

Additional Considerations



Shipping

  • Shipping Carrier and Class combinations will Show on the Order - The Shipping Carrier and Class combination that appears when the order is imported will match exactly what is selected by the buyer on the Yahoo! Store.
  • Shipping Carrier for Shipping Tracking Updates - When providing Shipment Tracking details, the only required value for Yahoo! is a tracking number.  If the retailer provides one of the the standard ChannelAdvisor carriers (ups, usps, fedex, or dhl), our integration will send that value to Yahoo.
