Computer CPU

2 gigahertz (GHz)

Memory

4 GB RAM

Free Hard drive space

1 GB

Internet Connectivity

A minimum of 5 megabits per second is required for acceptable level of application user interface performance.

Screen Resolution

ChannelAdvisor recommends the following resolution for use with our application:

  • 1280x1024
  • Preferred screen resolutions are:
    • 1680 x 1050
    • 1440 x 900
  • 1024x768 is a functional resolution, however this will require some horizontial scrolling in a number of views. To avoid this, please use a higher resolution.

The first number in the resolution signifies the width of the display. A width of 1280px is the limiting size. Monitors will vary with the accompanying height depending upon the aspect ration.

Supported Browsers

To use the ChannelAdvisor platform, you must have a user id and password to gain access to the application. We recommend using the Strategy and Support Center guides and/or working with our Implementation team to receive proper training to efficiently get started.

Infrastructure

At ChannelAdvisor, we understand the importance of data and we consider the protection of that data paramount. In addition toproviding a premier security infrastructure, we also allocate significant resources to continuously maintaining and improving our securityto protect our customers.

Physical Security

ChannelAdvisor’s production servers are located at the Windstream Hosted Solutions Data Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. The facility provides a state-of-the-art Network Operations Center, advanced security and monitoring systems, sophisticated firesuppression systems and redundant utility transformers, generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), main switch panels, UPSs and PDUs. Windstream Hosted Solutions has successfully passed a SSAE16 SOC1. A copy of the report is available to ChannelAdvisor’scustomers upon request.

Perimeter Defense

ChannelAdvisor’s team has installed redundant firewalls and intrusion detection systems to monitor and protect the network perimeter. System servers and firewall log files are continuously scanned and monitored by automatic applications that recordperformance and availability.

Reliability and Backup

For complete redundancy, ChannelAdvisor stores all customer data on a virtual database server cluster. ChannelAdvisor has also deployed all networking components, load balancers, Web servers, application servers and database servers in a redundant onfiguration. The database disk storage is configured using a RAID configuration with multiple data paths.Backups of the system are scheduled every night. All application and customer data, up to the last committed transaction, areautomatically written to these backups, which are replicated to a second location for resiliency purposes.

Operating Systems and Subsystems

ChannelAdvisor protects its operating system by using a minimal number of access points to all production servers and enforcing strong passwords for operating system accounts. Operating systems are strengthened by continuous maintenance, including updatingpatch levels for security, disabling and removing unnecessary users, protocols and processes, and ensuring that servers do not share amaster password database.

Database Security

Database security is similarly handled by limiting access points and preventing a shared master password database. For added security, database access is controlled at the operating system and database connection level.ChannelAdvisor maintains hosted application data under password protection in a secure, commercial, relational database. Our systemis designed to prevent unauthorized access, internal or external, by using multiple levels of authorization and security protocols.

Application Security

A limited number of essential ChannelAdvisor administrative personnel are the only ones permitted to access ChannelAdvisor systemsand any sensitive data.ChannelAdvisor customers are prevented from accessing the data of other customers through a robust application security model, whichis reapplied with every request and enforced for the duration of a user session.

User Authentication

Users are required to enter a valid username and password combination to access ChannelAdvisor applications, which is encrypted viaSSL while in transmission. Passwords must pass a strength test and are encrypted when stored in the application. ChannelAdvisor alsouses a cookie to give each user a unique identity, and times out dormant sessions for additional security. Each user is assigned a “role,”managed through the User Administration function, which includes a set of user attributes or permissions for those functions and areasin the hosted application.

Virus Protection

In addition to protecting all ChannelAdvisor workstations and servers with continually updated virus scanning and protection software,ChannelAdvisor also ensures that all externally facing servers are hardened to limit and prevent the threat of contracting, communicatingor spreading a virus.

Industry Security Checks

ChannelAdvisor keeps up-to-date on any breaking security alerts, software and system patches and other relevant updates via theCERT/CC industry alert subscription list and repository. ChannelAdvisor also monitors security alerts from vendors and partners. Anynecessary updates or patches are applied to the system with priority.

Disaster Recovery

ChannelAdvisor has implemented a business continuity and disaster recovery plan, which is reviewed regularly and updated as needed.Enhanced Monitoring and CommunicationChannelAdvisor has invested in system-wide and channel-specific monitoring for real-time checks of the health and well-being of thesystem. We have implemented new measures so that in the unlikely event an issue impacts your account, you will be notified directlyand updated regularly.
