Tasks to Complete

To use the Top Products Report:

  1. In ChannelAdvisor, navigate to Digital Marketing > Marketing Management > Product Performance.
  2. Click on the Top Products tab.
  3. Select a Date Range - by default, this view will show data from the prior 7 days. To change this setting follow these steps:
    1. Select the date drop-down from the upper left corner of your view.
    2. Enter a Custom Range by selecting a start and end date from the calendar or typing the dates in the fields provided, or select a predefined date range from the drop-down menu.
    3. Click Apply. The Top Products Report refreshes and displays the new date range selected.
  4. Sort and Filter Columns - In most cases, you will want to work with only a select group of products that share similar characteristics. This can be done by sorting and filtering your view based on specific criteria:
    1. Sort Columns by clicking on the column heading to sort data from ascending or descending order. An arrow will appear indicating how the column was sorted.
    2. Filter Columns:
      • Value Filter - With some columns, you can filter for a value (such as SKU, title, or brand) by selecting a qualifier from the drop-down menu and then typing in the value.
      • Range Filter - With other columns, you can filter on a range between two specified values by entering a value in the From and To fields.
      • Greater Than Filter - Type a value in the From field and leave the To field blank. All data greater than the value in the From field will appear.
      • Less Than Filter -  Leave the From field blank, and type a value in the To field. All data less than the value in the To field will appear.
      • Click Apply after filters are set, and the Top Products Report refreshes and displays the filtered data.
  5. Once the report displays, you can arrange the data in a number of ways:
    • Adjust the column width by hovering over the border between column headers and dragging the arrows to the left or right.
    • Select the number of records to view per page from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the grid.
    • Navigate from page to page at the bottom of the grid with the First, Previous, Next, and Last buttons, or type in the page number you wish to view - important to note if you have many items to compare in the report.
  6. Within the report, review how many orders have come from each of your active Digital Marketing providers, to find gaps across channels.
    • For example, the report could show SKU #12345 is the top selling product on Adwords, but shows 0 sold on Google Shopping. This should bring your attention to the feed for a health check: Am I sending this item in the feed? Am I bidding aggressively enough on PLA?
    • Shopzilla has sold xxx of SKU #54321 but Google Adwords has not sold any. This could indicate a great opportunity for a keyword/item coverage build out. Just export this report, and start your analysis!
  7. Click Export to download a .xls file of the data.
