Updating Shipping and Tracking Manually via the User Interface

ChannelAdvisor allows you to update your shipping and tracking information in bulk via upload spreadsheet or manually via the  User Interface. Updating your shipping and tracking information manually via the User Interface is the preferred method when only working with a small number of orders. If working with many orders we suggest Creating a File for Bulk Upload of Shipping and Tracking Information

If the marketplace can accept further details about the transaction such as carrier, class or tracking number then those details will be sent as long as you have provided that data. This can significantly reduce questions from buyers asking for the status or information about their item, so including as much detail as possible when shipping invoices is always helpful.

How to Update Your Shipping and Tracking Information via the User Interface


Complete the following steps related to this task:

  1. Navigate to the Sales > Orders/Transactions > All Sales view.
  2. Click on the View Details link of the order that you would like to add tracking for.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of your view on the tab labeled Items
    1. To apply shipping and tracking information to an entire order complete the following steps:
      1. Enter in your tracking number
      2. Select your shipping carrier from the dropdown
      3. Enter the date of shipment or leave as today's date.
      4. Select the Ship All button.
    2. To apply shipping and tracking information to individual items on a multi-item order complete the following steps:
      1. Select the item you would like to provide shipping and tracking information for
      2. Select the Add to Shipment button
      3. Enter in your tracking number
      4. Select your shipping carrier from the dropdown
      5. Enter the date of shipment or leave as today's date.
      6. Select Save


Each order will be updated with a shipping status of Shipped. Any marketplace transactions on the invoice will be updated at the marketplace to denote that the order has been shipped. This will update the status of transactions at eBay, Amazon, Buy.com, and other marketplaces to show the buyer that the purchase has been shipped and is on its way.
