Using the Custom Bulk Upload Spreadsheet

For those that prefer to keep their inventory data in their own custom format ChannelAdvisor does allow for a custom bulk upload method. Because a custom file can contain different information per user, per account or per file within an account, you must tell ChannelAdvisor how to interpret your data that is in the file. Defining file headers and mapping templates are used to define the product data that will be sent in the file to ChannelAdvisor.

  1. Defining File Headers  
    Each inventory upload file that is sent to ChannelAdvisor contains data using field names, called Headers, that define the information contained in each field. An upload file may contain headers that are not recognized by the ChannelAdvisor system and you must define these header fields that are contained in your upload file.
     
  2. Map the template  
    Inventory templates are used to define the data that is sent to be added into ChannelAdvisor inventory. When using the  ChannelAdvisor Inventory Upload Spreadsheet  a template is optional, however if you choose to use a Custom File format the template mapping is required.
     
  3. Upload your file  
    ChannelAdvisor provides you with the ability to send your files in a variety of ways.
