How can I view a list of ebay ads that have inventory available but are not live on ebay?

Go to the Marketplaces > eBay > Product Mapping > Ads view. On the right click on "Create" beside "Filter By". Next give your filter a name create your filter as follows:

Inventory Quantity >= 1
And
(Inventory Qty Open = 0
and
Posting Template Name like ebay)

Finally click "Save and Exit".

Is it possible to change a posting template from a fixed price format to auction format (or vice versa)?

No, many different settings on the posting template can be edited, but you cannot change the posting format (or site name) of a template from Fixed Price to Auction format or from Auction format to Fixed Price. You will need to create a new posting template with the desired format instead.

Support for FedEx in eBay listings will be available with ChannelAdvisor's March 9, 2011 release, but in the meantime you can use the "Expedited Shipping Service" option on your posting template.

Does ChannelAdvisor support eBay's wholesale categories?

ChannelAdvisor does support eBay's wholesale categories.

eBay's Wholesale area has a "mini-site" at the following link.

eBay Wholesale categories are normal categories that eBay has decided to give special treatment to in the site navigation, etc.

How do I re-validate my eBay Token?

Navigate to the Marketplaces > eBay > eBay settings page and click on the 'edit' option beside eBay Marketplace Credentials.

From here click on the 'Modify' link on the right hand side of the page and then you will see a message stating "You have already registered your eBay authentication token with ChannelAdvisor. Click here if you need to update your token.".

Please click the 'here' link in this message at the top of the page and follow through the instructions.
Once you enter your eBay credentails and accept the ChannelAdvisor token, it will be renewed.

How do I post listings to my eBay Store through ChannelAdvisor?

If you have an eBay store, any Fixed Price listings will automatically be included. Store Format-only listings have been retired by eBay.

How can I get my eBay Variations relisted after I make a revision to one of the Children?

There are several ways to go about relisting variation items if you update one of the children while the ads are still live.

The main way is to withdraw all of the variations, and delete the errors, and repost them.

Another method is to wait for the schedule to repost the items.

One important feature to note is the Relist option when you go to repost the items. You will need to disable this feature. If left enabled, the item will error out and not list. eBay will look for the last posting of this item, and try to match all of the item specifics, which you just changed. By disabling this feature, you allow a brand new listing of that item to go up, so eBay no longer attempts to match the details, instead posting it as a new listing.

How do I resolve eBay orders not combining when it says "at least one of the invoices is in a status that prevents consolidation" ?

Go to All Sales view, pull up the invoice(s) and check its update status. Most of the time the orders could not consolidate because the system couldn't update its status. This can happen if the order has been cancelled. The order could have been canceled because of the Unpaid Sales configuration.

Resolve this by increasing the number of days allowed before an order is automatically canceled; Marketplaces>eBay>Settings>eBay Settings; edit 'Unpaid Sales'.

How do you file for final value fee credits after canceling a sale?

When you cancel a sale (see http://ssc.ChannelAdvisor.com/howto/ebay-unpaid-items#cancelsale for instructions on how to do so), you have the option of creating a dispute on eBay. Filing disputes are how you request a final value fee credit from eBay. After clicking the "Cancel Sale" button in the instructions on the provided link, follow the wizard to file your dispute.

Why aren't any of my eBay sales importing?

The most common case of this happening is when your eBay credentials are no longer valid because you have changed the eBay information, revoked the CA ability to process on your behalf, or the credentials have expired after their 18 month validity cycle. In all of these cases you will get account messages that your credentials will expire soon or have expired and need to be updated in order for us to process work on your behalf.

Account messages can be seen on the My Account > Messages > Message Center page where you can view the entire message, flag messages, or delete messages that you've already addressed.

You can update your eBay credentials by going to the Marketplaces > eBay > Settings > eBay Settings page and clicking the "Edit" link next to the "eBay Marketplace Credentials" header. From there, click "Modify" and re-enter your password and Save your changes.

Then use the "Verify Token" button to confirm your token is still valid. If your token fails, use the "click here" link next to "Token" and update your eBay token.

Is there a way to setup the winning bidder email to go out only for CA Basic Webstores website or Checkout Direct, and not for eBay orders?

Not at this time, but this is something we're going to look at adding in the future. Currently, the email templates used within CA Complete are used for eBay, Basic Webstores, and Checkout Direct orders.

Yes, we do support the "Good 'til canceled" (GTC) duration on eBay Fixed Price listings.

Why can't I revise my eBay store listing durations?

This is a rule in eBay's system.
You are not able to revise the duration of eBay Store listings
The only valid durations for ebay is as follows

3 days
5 days
7 days
10 days
30 days
GTC (unlimited)

Can I remove the payment options from my eBay open listings?

The revise functionality does not support the removal of the payment options. The best way to remove them would be to change your posting template to have the payment options you wish to have for your listings. As the old listings age out and new listings are submitted, the new payment options will be submitted on those new items.

If you want to change currently open listings then the best way to do that would be to end the open listings and have new ones submitted.

Will a second chance offer be left for bidders who bid under the reserve price?

Second chance offers will be left for any under bidders whose bid was above the threshold price you indicate in the Sales > Settings view. This can includes bids that were above the threshold but below the reserve price. If you do not want second chance offers left for these bidders, then you will want to set your second chance offer threshold price greater than or equal to your reserve price.

You can review and change your Second Chance Offer settings in ChannelAdvisor under Sales > Settings. Scroll to the "Second Chance Offer Settings" section and select the price that you want to use as the lower threshold from the drop-down menu.

What does the error "adid is required" for an ad upload mean?

This error occurs when you are creating an ad upload file but you have not input the "Ad ID" column. This column is required if you are updating or uploading ads. If you are only uploading new ads, input a "0" for each sku. This will tell the system that you are creating a new ad for the sku.

How can I setup a variation listing for my ebay items?

To send an eBay variation listing live to eBay, all of the following points must be true:

1. Is eBay Variation Listings Functionality enabled?
You can view this in the Marketplaces > eBay > Settings > eBay Settings > Listings > Variation Listings view.

2. Is the item in parent / child format that eBay will accept?
Usually this is based on Size, Colour or Brand for example.

3. Do all the child items share the same posting template?
You can check this in the Marketplaces > eBay > Product Mapping > Ads view.

4. Is an Ad created for each child item?
You can also check this in the Marketplaces > eBay > Product Mapping > Ads view.

5. Are all the child items using any schedule (it does not have to be the same)?
This can also be checked in the Marketplaces > eBay > Product Mapping > Ads view.

6. Do the child items have quantity available to list?
You can view this in the Inventory > All Products view.

7. Does eBay support variation listings for the category?
This can be checked by going to the SYI (Sell Your Item) form on eBay. To see the SYI form go to: www.ebay.com and click on Sell. Next click the icon "List your items" and you will be prompted to login. Once you have done so, click "Browse Categories" and input your category in the bottom right hand box and hit enter. If variation listings are valid for this category, you should get a popup asking if you would like to set it up. This will tell you that eBay supports variation listings for this category.

How can I resolve the error "The ad template body cannot contain more than 100000 characters"?

This is a system limit and there is no way to change this currently. However there are a couple of things you can do to get under the limit. The first is that blank spaces do count towards the limit, so the easiest thing is to just go through the code and remove any large blank spaces until you are under the limit.

The other option is to take advantage of template tags. If you have parts of your templates that will not ever change you can enter the code for that into a global template tag in Marketplaces > eBay > Settings > Template Tags page and then just mark that it contains HTML. Then just replace the code in your ad template with this one tag and it will dynamically pull in the code from the tag when it compiles the template.

Either of these options or a combination will help you to get under the character limit.

What is the eBay Stock Photo option?

You can choose to use the eBay Stock photo option for the gallery image in the settings of the posting template. What this will do is take a stock photo from eBay's system for the item you are posting based on the search criteria you specify in the pre-filled item specifics for that ad. In the posting template settings, you will need to check the box for "Use Stock Photo For Gallery?" located in the "eBay Pre-filled Item Specifics (Catalog)" section. If you do not wish to use the Stock Photo option then you can leave this option unselected and use the normal gallery option with any image you wish to use.

Will you file for credit when I use the eBay's UPI Assistant?

No. When you are using the eBay's UPI Assistant, it will file for credit rather than our software. When it does so, is based on the settings in your eBay account settings.

When you ship the item, you can assign the specific carrier (UPS, USPS, FedEx, or custom carrier options) as part of updating the order as shipped in CA Complete and that will be submitted back to eBay with the shipping notification.

What are the different eBay Powerseller levels?

There are five Powerseller levels based on gross monthly sales:

a. Bronze: >$1,000
b. Silver: >$3,000
c. Gold: >$10,000
d. Platinum: >$25,000
e. Titanium: > $150,000

eBay has specific criteria for becoming and maintaining a Powerseller status. A useful overview of the Powerseller program may be found here:

Why is the API creating duplicate Ads for eBay?

The API call does not have the functionality to detect duplicate ads for eBay. You are fully responsible for not creating duplicate ads as no check for duplicate ads ever takes place.

Why can I not withdraw sales for an Ebay listing?

This is typically caused because the your Ebay password within ChannelAdvisor is invalid. We use an Ebay Token to post and close auctions on your behalf but we still need your Ebay password for a handful of other functions such as withdrawing sales. So, by updating your eBay information on the Marketplaces > eBay > Settings > Marketplace Accounts page you should then be able to withdraw sales without any problems.

If however you continue to have problems withdrawing sales please contact Support.

Why are my UK county dropdown lists incorrect?

The regions listed in the ChannelAdvisor dropdown lists can be very confusing to residents of the UK. This is because the "official" region lists (as defined by Royal Mail and the ISO standard ISO-3166-2) do not always match what is common practice in everyday usage in the UK. By and large, the official region list for UK consists of UK counties. It is important to know that Royal Mail also defines 8 "Metropolitan Counties", or "Metropolitan Districts", that comprise and overlap multiple postal regions. Royal Mail aggregates several postal regions into larger postal districts.

Unfortunately, the ChannelAdvisor dropdown list includes both postal regions and postal districts. We are constantly striving to improve this list and it is an on-going effort.
