How do I post my eBay ads to multiple sites at once?
You can find this setting in the "Additional Features"/"Selling Preferences" section depending on the Posting template you are using. The options vary depending on the location configured for your posting account. return to menu
For example, the posting templates in a US posting account would show an option to "Make my item visible on eBay UK". A UK account would give you the option to "Make my item visible on eBay US and eBay CA". Once that option is enabled with the correct value, all future listings posted by that template will appear on both sites.
Keep in mind that there is a small fee for this feature, which is outlined next to the option on the posting template.
Can the Out of Stock Control setting be removed via a revision?
eBay does not allow the Out of Stock Control option to be removed once it has been added to a listing. The open listing must be ended and a new listing submitted after the Out Of Stock Control setting has been disabled.return to menu
Does ChannelAdvisor support eBay Scheduled Listings?
The eBay Scheduled Listings functionality is available. While not relevant to most users, it can be useful for Daily Deal promotion listings. If you would like to use this functionality, please contact your Account Manager or the Customer Support team.return to menu
How long does the buyer have to respond to a mutually agreed on eBay dispute?
For a mutually agreed on dispute, the buyer has up to 60 days to respond. After that window, eBay would automatically close the dispute and the Final Value Fee (FVF) would NOT be credited. In addition, the seller would not be able to re-file the claim. return to menu
If the buyer disagrees, then the FVF will not be credited and the buyer not be able to re-file the claim as well.
*** Thus the buyer has to agreed to that dispute, otherwise any scenarios outside of that, the FVF will not be credited and the claim CANNOT be re-filed. ***
Does ChannelAdvisor support eBay Markdown Manager?
There is currently no way to use eBay's Markdown Manager directly through ChannelAdvisor. However, this does not prevent you from taking advantage of this feature. All you need to do is follow eBay's instructions for setup, found here: http://pages.ebay.com/stores/markdown-manager/tutorial/index.html.return to menu
No changes are required on the ChannelAdvisor side, but here are some important things to keep in mind:
- When a purchase is made, ChannelAdvisor will import the sale information using the actual price paid by the buyer.
- The price shown in the Open Listings view will not reflect any changes made by the Markdown Manager. It will be the price sent by ChannelAdvisor.
- Any revision to the listing will remove the item from a sale. To keep the automatic revision system from updating your listings and ending your sales, you may want to consider using the exclusion label for your Markdown Manager items. This is covered here: http://ssc.ChannelAdvisor.com/howto/revising-open-listing.
For more information, including alternatives to Markdown Manager, please see: http://ssc.ChannelAdvisor.com/howto/implementing-markdown-manager-ebay-listings
Can I use business rules on my eBay posting template?
Yes, you can use business rules and lookup lists in the posting template's new editor. The new editor enables business policies, lookup lists, easier selection of product information fields, and item specifics from multiple categories to be configured on a single template, similar to our other marketplace templates.return to menu
The posting templates using legacy fields can still use advanced template tags to do calculations, which you can read more on here: http://ssc.ChannelAdvisor.com/howto/advanced-template-tags.
Alternatively, you can use business rules to alter the data during the inventory upload process.
Please see more on this here: http://ssc.ChannelAdvisor.com/howto/inventory/templates
If you are using the legacy posting templates and would like to upgrade to the new editor, go into your existing posting template and click the "View and modify your template in the new editor" link at the top of the page.
Can I revise the Auction Title on eBay?
Yes, but eBay puts restrictions on when the title of a live listing can be revised. A title cannot be revise if:return to menu
- there have been sales on the listing
- there are any pending bids
- the listing ends within 12 hours
You can see this and more restrictions to eBay revisions here: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/revising_restrictions.html.
What do I do in ChannelAdvisor if I renamed my eBay account?
It depends on what you did. return to menu
1) If you renamed your existing eBay account, no further action is needed since all the information on the back-end is still the same. We will automatically update the displayed username in our system the next time your eBay token is updated or renewed. When renewing your token, please follow these steps:
- Go to Marketplaces > eBay > eBay Settings > eBay Marketplace Credentials.
- Click the link for the seller account you wish to re-validate under the "eBay User Name" column.
- Click the "Update Token" button.
- You will be redirected to eBay. Enter your User ID and Password.
- Click the "I Agree" button.
- You will then be redirected back to CA. You may need to re-enter your password.
- Click the "Save" button.
- If you get a warning about "Potential Username Conflict", the correct step is to select "Replace Existing Credentials"
2) If you created a new eBay account (separate from your existing eBay account), you should add that new eBay account. Go to the Marketplaces > eBay > Settings > eBay Settings > eBay Credentials page and click "Add New". It is very important that you do not replace your existing eBay account because this would then break the integration between ChannelAdvisor and eBay for any existing open listings.
How can I add my skype details to my ebay listings?
In eBay directly go to My eBay > Preferences > Skype Preferences and click ?Add? to include a primary Skype name in your preferences and on the Skype Preferences page, click the ?Link a Skype Name? button. Once this is completed all future listings will have your skype details present.return to menu
Is it possible to change a posting template from a fixed price format to auction format (or vice versa)?
No, many different settings on the posting template can be edited, but you cannot change the posting format (or site name) of a template from Fixed Price to Auction format or from Auction format to Fixed Price. You will need to create a new posting template with the desired format instead.return to menu
Can I setup automatic revisions for eBay listings?
Yes you can enable this feature in your eBay account settings:return to menu
1) Access Marketplaces > eBay > Settings > eBay Settings > Listings > Edit
2) Scroll to a section called "Revise Listings"
3) Check the box beside "Enable automatic updates to eBay listings"
4) Save and Exit
Once you have this enabled you can have automatic revisions sent to eBay. If you make changes to your SKU, Pricing etc they will revise on eBay within 24 hours.
If you want more information on this please access the link below:
Does the primary image slot need to have a value specified for variation listing images to change?
Yes our system relies on this being populated in that primary image slot. For example the first one configured on the posting template, in order for us to send all of the images for a variation. So the image slot ITEMIMAGEURL1 must have an image specified for the images to change on a variation listing.return to menu
How will data changes from eBay Automatic Revisions be shown on my listings?
The listing on eBay will be noted that it has been changed. You can see on the eBay listing page that there is a link for View All Revisions at the top of the description that will tell you which elements on a listing have been modified. The values are not shown, but the specific fields that have been modified are displayed. return to menu
More details on the eBay Revision link can be found here:
More information on the eBay Automatic Revision feature can be found here:
How does our flagging process work with eBay ads?
Here is the expected behavior when adding or removing flags from SKUs and/or eBay ads.return to menu
Adding a flag:
- to a SKU through All Products does NOT add a flag to the ad.
- to a SKU through an Upload does NOT add a flag to the ad.
- to a SKU through the Edit Item page DOES add a flag to the ad.
- to an ad DOES add a flag to the SKU.
Removing a flag:
- from a SKU through All Products does NOT remove a flag on the ad.
- from a SKU through an Upload does NOT remove a flag on the ad.
- from a SKU through the Edit Item page DOES remove a flag on the ad.
- from an ad DOES remove a flag from the SKU.
Does blocking an item withdraw the associated eBay listing?
This depends on whether you are using eBay QuickStart or eBay Custom.return to menu
*****For eBay QuickStart users*****
Blocking a SKU will withdraw a listing from eBay. Additionally, you may remove listings via label removal. Similar to other Marketplaces, labels tie eBay QuickStart SKUs to eBay. By removing the label, you break the tie to eBay, thus removing the listing.
*****For eBay Custom users*****
Blocking a SKU will only prevent your eBay ads from posting again; it will NOT withdraw your open listings. To end your listings, you will also need to withdraw the listings. This can be done from one of the following views using the "Withdraw Listings" button:
- Marketplaces > eBay > Open Listings
- Marketplaces > eBay > Ads
- Inventory > Products > All Products
Note that if using "Withdraw Listings" from the Inventory > Products > All Products view, this will also automatically block your SKU as well.
I turned off the UPI Assistant on eBay. Why am I seeing errors?
You may still see this error in some disputesreturn to menu
"Error - Dispute not created "
"Cannot add dispute manually. You cannot add a dispute manually for this transaction as it is already opted for Auto File/Auto Credit."
When you turn off the UPI Assistant, any orders marked as paid before the change will still use eBay's UPI Assistant rather than our dispute process. This should correct itself in a few days as these orders are taken care of.
What does this eBay error mean: The selected shipping policy must have the same currency as the listing?
This error is mainly specific to the eBay Canada locale. When posting from ChannelAdvisor, the currency will always be in Canadian Dollars. On the eBay site, you have the option at the listing level to select US or Canadian dollars and at the Business Policy level as well. If the assigned shipping policy in ChannelAdvisor has the currency set to US in the policy settings on eBay, then this error will be returned. The shipping policy will need to be edited and changed to Canadian currency.return to menu
Is eBay Austria supported?
eBay Austria is now supported since our October Release 2015. Other locales available since this release also are - Hong Kong, Singapore, and Switzerland and these have been added as countries within the ?Add a New Country? page located at My Account > Add a New Country.return to menu
Within eBay category selection tool, what does the numbers in the parentheses of a category option mean?
When using the eBay category selection tool on ad or posting template, what is the meaning of the numbers in the parentheses of a category option?return to menu
For example, you select the following eBay category string:
Clothing, Shoes & Accessories >> Men's Shows >> Boots (1)
What is the meaning of the (1)?
This means that particular eBay category option supports variation listings.
At the bottom of the eBay category selection tool, you will see the "Individual Category Information" section that states the meaning of each number:
1. Supports Variation Listings
2. Supports Fitment Listings if using manual fitment, the maximum number of fitments is in
3. Is a Value Category can only be listed in one category and must use catalog if available
4. Supports catalog listings
5. Requires catalog listings
eBay Posting Error: Category entered is not catalog enabled
This indicates that your ad has picked up a catalog item from the eBay catalog and is submitting that to eBay with your listing. However, the category that the ad is pointing to does not support catalog items. It may be that the category you're using no longer allows catalog items at eBay or the category has been changed to a new category that doesn't support catalog items. return to menu
The easiest solution here is to remove any catalog mapping you have and either manually search for a new one or let a new catalog item be automatically mapped based on your configured options.
Why is the eBay "Fast 'N Free" logo not displayed in my listings?
There are specific requirements that need to be met in order for the Fast N Free logo to be eligible for display in a listing. The list of requirements for Fast 'N Free can be found here: http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/ship-smart/advanced-shipping/attract-more-buyers/fastnfree.htmlreturn to menu
The settings alone, however, do not control whether the logo is displayed or not. The eBay Fast 'N Free logo is something that eBay evaluates after the listing is posted. If all of the criteria are met, it means the Fast 'N Free logo can appear in the listings based on eBay's evaluation and calculations.
Does ChannelAdvisor support the eBay "Good 'til Canceled" feature?
Yes, we do support the "Good 'til canceled" (GTC) duration on eBay Fixed Price listings. You will find this option on your eBay Schedules under Marketplaces > eBay > Schedules.return to menu
Can I put an HTML form in my Ad Template to search my eBay Store?
With the appropriate HTML code it is possible to put a form to search your eBay Store in your Ad Template. Below is some simple code that should help you set this up. Please note that you will need to enter your eBay Store name into the code, and you will also need to find and enter your eBay Store's ID number. The easiest way to find your store's ID number is to perform a search for the store name on stores.ebay.com, and hover over the URL to the store. Right click and select view properties to find the store URL with the store ID number. An example is:return to menu
The number at the end of the URL should be your eBay Store ID number.

Can I specify countries like New Zealand as a ship to country for eBay?
This is a limitation (and an odd quirk) on eBay's side. For some reason, there are a few regions that they do not consider to be part of the larger region group. For example, they do not consider New Zealand to be a part of the larger "Asia" group. As such, the only way to offer shipping to these locations is to offer "Worldwide" as an option. return to menu
If you do go this route and you have certain countries you don't want to ship to, you can alter either your eBay or ChannelAdvisor posting template settings to exclude them. Here's how: https://ssc.ChannelAdvisor.com/howto/using-ebay-excluded-countries-list.
How do I convert my ads to post to a different eBay marketplace?
There is not a way to assign an ad to a posting template of a different eBay marketplace. The best option here is to create a new ad that uses the appropriate posting template for the new marketplace.return to menu
