Where can I map a second eBay Category for eBay QuickStart?

You may now map a second eBay Category within your QuickStart feed template. This is not a required field;however, if you wish to send a second eBay Category within eBay QuickStart this can be done by mapping the field "Second eBay Category" within the feed template.

Note - Do not map the field eBay Category within the feed template. ChannelAdvisor will pull the first category value from the "eBay_Category_ID" field at the SKU level.

How do I provide an Aust-L or Aust-R number when listing therapeutic goods on eBay Australia?

If listing a therapeutic good on eBay AU, please make sure to comply with eBay's Therapeutic Goods policy, which is described in more detail here:

If a Aust-L or Aust-R number is not provided on the listing, the listing will be removed by eBay.

It looks like most sellers provide this number in the eBay listing title, but the Aust-L or Aust-R number can also be provided in the listing description or sent as a custom item specific.

Can I add a surcharge for Economy Shipping on eBay?

For economy shipping on eBay under business policies, you cannot add a surcharge.

Can I use business rules on my eBay posting template?

Yes, you can use business rules and lookup lists in the posting template's new editor. The new editor enables business policies, lookup lists, easier selection of product information fields, and item specifics from multiple categories to be configured on a single template, similar to our other marketplace templates.

The posting templates using legacy fields can still use advanced template tags to do calculations, which you can read more on here: http://ssc.ChannelAdvisor.com/howto/advanced-template-tags.

Alternatively, you can use business rules to alter the data during the inventory upload process.

What do I do in ChannelAdvisor if I renamed my eBay account?

It depends on what you did.

1) If you renamed your existing eBay account, no further action is needed since all the information on the back-end is still the same. We will automatically update the displayed username in our system the next time your eBay token is updated or renewed. When renewing your token, please follow these steps:

- Go to Marketplaces > eBay > eBay Settings > eBay Marketplace Credentials.
- Click the link for the seller account you wish to re-validate under the "eBay User Name" column.
- Click the "Update Token" button.
- You will be redirected to eBay. Enter your User ID and Password.
- Click the "I Agree" button.
- You will then be redirected back to CA. You may need to re-enter your password.
- Click the "Save" button.
- If you get a warning about "Potential Username Conflict", the correct step is to select "Replace Existing Credentials"

2) If you created a new eBay account (separate from your existing eBay account), you should add that new eBay account. Go to the Marketplaces > eBay > Settings > eBay Settings > eBay Credentials page and click "Add New". It is very important that you do not replace your existing eBay account because this would then break the integration between ChannelAdvisor and eBay for any existing open listings.

What does the following error message within DE Locale posting account mean "Leer gelassene Artikelbezeichnung"?

eBay responded with the message:
Short Message: Leer gelassene Artikelbezeichnung.
Long Message: Sie mssen eine Artikelbezeichnung fr Ihren Artikel eingeben.

If you receive the above error message sometime google translate is iffy in relation to translating these eBay errors. Rather than translating, it's often better to add the Result Code column to the Listing Errors view on ChannelAdvisor (this is within the hidden columns view "Result Code") and then search that on eBay's dev site:

As you'll see there, result code 69 equates to:
Short error: Empty Title.
Long error: You must enter a title for your item.

To resolve this error you'll need to check that the Parent SKU and all the Child SKUs are sending a title. If you don't have a title specified you'll receive the above posting error.

Why can't I revise my eBay listing duration?

eBay does not allow a change to the duration of a listing after that listing has been live for two hours. Additionally, GTC listings are never permitted to have a change to duration. eBay Posting Error: Category entered is not catalog enabled

This indicates that your ad has picked up a catalog item from the eBay catalog and is submitting that to eBay with your listing. However, the category that the ad is pointing to does not support catalog items. It may be that the category you're using no longer allows catalog items at eBay or the category has been changed to a new category that doesn't support catalog items.

The easiest solution here is to remove any catalog mapping you have and either manually search for a new one or let a new catalog item be automatically mapped based on your configured options.

How can I view a list of eBay ads that have inventory available but are not live on eBay?

Go to the Marketplaces > eBay > Product Mapping > Ads view. On the right click on "Create" beside "Filter By". Next give your filter a name create your filter as follows:

Inventory Quantity >= 1
And
(Inventory Qty Open = 0
and
Posting Template Name like ebay)

Finally click "Save and Exit".

How do I post my eBay ads to multiple sites at once?

You can find this setting in the "Additional Features"/"Selling Preferences" section depending on the Posting template you are using. The options vary depending on the location configured for your posting account.

For example, the posting templates in a US posting account would show an option to "Make my item visible on eBay UK". A UK account would give you the option to "Make my item visible on eBay US and eBay CA". Once that option is enabled with the correct value, all future listings posted by that template will appear on both sites.

Keep in mind that there is a small fee for this feature, which is outlined next to the option on the posting template.

How do we notify our eBay customers of the carrier we used to ship their item?

Even if your eBay listings include generic shipping options like "Standard Shipping", when you ship the item you can assign a specific carrier (UPS, USPS, FedEx, or custom carrier options). The carrier and class that you use when updating the order as shipped in ChannelAdvisor will be submitted to eBay with the shipping notification, updating the buyer's order.

Will my sales history be carried over to my next eBay listing?

For Fixed Price listings, sales history will be carried over from one listing to the next based on the following:

- If the new item is a multi quantity listing
- If the previous item was a multi quantity listing
- If the previous item had one or more sales (Last 14 days for a scheduled ad and last 60 days for a 'Post Now')
- If the previous item closed in last 7 days
- If the new item and previous item are using the same ad ID
- If the new ad has the same condition and category as the previous ad

How do you remove eBay credentials from a posting account?

- Go to Marketplaces>eBay>Settings>eBay Settings.
- Click 'Modify' under the 'Actions' column.
- Un-check all the marketplaces (eBay Auction US, eBay Fixed Price US, etc...) shown.
- Click 'Save'.

Note that this will delete any posting templates and ads in CA associated with that particular eBay user ID.

Is there a way to un-map eBay catalog information in bulk?

There is currently no way to do this in bulk.

You can, however, change the catalog mapping to something different. If you would like to change the catalog mapping, click on the link for the Ad ID to edit it , then click the "Catalog Item Information" tab within each ad. Information on this can be found on our Strategy and Support Center here:

It's important to note that catalog mapping is made at the SKU level, so there are occasions (moving from the Motors catalog to manual fitment) where unmapping at the ad level will not work. In that case, opening a Support ticket is necessary.

How will data changes from eBay Automatic Revisions be shown on my listings?

The listing on eBay will be noted that it has been changed. You can see on the eBay listing page that there is a link for View All Revisions at the top of the description that will tell you which elements on a listing have been modified. The values are not shown, but the specific fields that have been modified are displayed.

What does the eBay error "Invalid rate table details type; The shipping rate table is not applicable for this site." mean?

Generally this error is returned because the previous listing for this item had different shipping options than the posting template currently uses.

If you are no longer wanting to use a shipping rate table for listings assigned to this posting template, clear out the mappings for this field. You can do this by following these steps:

1) If this is an eBay Quickstart account, go to Marketplaces > eBay > Product Mapping >Template and select "edit" under the template column

-OR-

2) If this an eBay custom account, go to Marketplaces > eBay > Product Mapping > Posting Templates and select "site details" for the desired posting template

Once here, select the business policies tab and scroll down to the "Shipping" section. Find the "Use Domestic Shipping Surcharge Table configured at eBay" field and make sure that there are no configured mappings.

-THEN-
Once the above is done, delete the listing error and the listing will post with the next iteration of the schedule.

Why do MPN, Brand and UPC (Product Identifier section) disappear from an eBay listing?.

The information configured in the Product Identifier section of your posting template is provided to eBay, but they don't always show it to buyers. They use it for their own cataloging and other elements like Google Shopping behind the scenes, but it's not exposed in the UI like a normal item specific field. If the values happen to match item specific fields and are set up for automatic matching then we'll provide those as item specifics as well and eBay will show them as an item specific, but they don't use the catalog values to generate anything for a user display.

Since eBay controls how all of that is displayed, it is best for a user to include that information in their ad template so they know it's going to be shown in their description.

What does 'The price for this item cannot be updated since it is a part of a sale' mean?

eBay has now added some new elements to the sale management tools that allow a price increase to be blocked while the item is on a sale.

To prevent the sale from ending on eBay, ChannelAdvisor has put a fallback measure in place in which the price will be dropped from the revision so that the rest of the listing can revise.

If this happens, you will see this error in the revision log:

Error Code: 21919248
Short Message: The price for this item cannot be updated since it is a part of a sale.
Long Message: The price for this item cannot be updated since it is a part of a sale. If you wish to update the price of this item, please remove it from sale, or use a sale setting that will always allow price updates.

Would I be able to set up Sales Maximizer for eBay in ChannelAdvisor?

You can use the Sales Maximizer in conjunction with items posted from ChannelAdvisor. However, there is currently no direct integration through ChannelAdvisor for this feature. No changes are needed to the way you post items from ChannelAdvisor. All Sales Maximizer related information such as bundle relationships and order level discount information must be configured directly at eBay. All orders will be imported as usual, but with the discounted rates.

Does ChannelAdvisor support the "Wait to Ship" status in Paypal as part of Paypal's Seller Protection on eBay program?

Yes, ChannelAdvisor does support the "Wait to Ship" status in Paypal, and we do this automatically for sellers.

When PayPal flags an order as "Wait to Ship", that order will not be marked as Payment Cleared in ChannelAdvisor until PayPal updates it. Thus, sellers should wait to ship an order until it has been marked as Payment Cleared in ChannelAdvisor.

How do I resolve "Your PayPal email address was not found"?

If the seller is getting the error message from eBay that "Your PayPal email address was not found" then they will need to login to PayPal and select 'confirm your email address'. This will trigger an email to the email address on PayPal to confirm their PayPal account.

The listing error can then be deleted.

Is there way to view all SKUs that don't currently have an open listing on eBay?

You can view SKUs that don't have an open listing on eBay by creating a filter in the All Products Beta View in Inventory. To do this navigate to Inventory > Products > All Products Beta. Click on the "Columns" Button. Add "Qty on eBay" column into the Visible Columns Section. Click on Save Filter. Then under the column "Qty on eBay" enter 0 and do a search and this will return a list of SKUs not listed on eBay. You can also export this file if needs be using Export Button at the top of the screen.

Why are my items not listing to eBay when I have FBA quantity?

You may not be set up to post FBA items to eBay. You can see this by going to Inventory > Settings > Distribution Centers and clicking "DC to Site Mappings".
You will need to enable the appropriate marketplaces to be eligible fulfillment from the FBA quantity.

How does eBay calculate Estimated Delivery Date?

This information is calculated behind-the-scenes by eBay and while they don't share the precise calculation, it considers the following:

- The postal code of the item's location (configured in ChannelAdvisor in your posting template)
- Your stated Handling Time for that listing (configured in ChannelAdvisor in your posting template)
- The buyer's address or IP location
- The historical shipment tracking data in your eBay account

So, for example, if you as a seller view the Estimated Delivery Date on one of your listings, you will likely see a very short time window because eBay would calculate a shorter distance for the item to travel (shipping from your postal code to the same postal code). However, if someone across the country were to look at the same item, their estimated delivery date would be different as eBay would take into account the source location, the stated handling time and the buyer's location - then use their historical tracking data to estimate when it would arrive.
